Summertown is loaded and the odds on favorite to win district 12A. Trotter could have solidified number one by allowing his pal Wes Huddleston to be asst.

Very interested in maybe hearing details about Summertown since they will be squaring off against Oakland in the Bridgestone Classic at LaVergne. Looking forward to a good game

yes trotter does a tremendous job at coaching. but huddleston will not be asst. there. not sure where that rumor got started at. he did add an asst. coach though by the name of ben parker, a summertown graduate of maybe 4-5 years ago i believe.

Yea I had heard the Huddleston thing was off...so I just thought I'd ask... :thumb:

Summertown played a scrimmage game Saturday against Franklin Road Academy. They played 6 independent quarters. S'town won 4 quarters, tied 1 and lost 1. They looked very good!

In reference to Wesley Huddleston............Mr Huddleston now teaches at Eagleville and coaches football. His children transferred to eagleville in August and returned to SHS in September. He and his family live in S'town and he commutes to Eaglevlle everyday. I heard that he will stay on in Eagleville until something closer to home opens up.

    • Tough situation.  Not sure the ROI is there right now.   Might be better options that are cheaper.
    • Yeah summer ball is really fun, but a lot of coaches are trying to play several kids to get much needed reps that they are not accustomed to. I would imagine Gibson County will have lots of players playing to get much needed reps. Want to win games but got to get experience as well and the rotation will be much deeper. I will be at MTSU, UTM Bethel and others. MTSU is the one I really look forward to.
    • So who are the new additions to the staff? Serious answers only please.
    • Its always interested to see the state teams the following summer after losing or not losing seniors and getting freshman and transfers. It's almost time.
    • Maryville has Alcoa on the schedule at the right time of the season which helped last year instead of at the first of the year not knowing much. West will be hard pressed to repeat this year but next will be a different story.
