You and me both know that all the team needed was a coach with discipline and a strong work ethic. That is a exactly what they got. I know I'm looking forward to seeing what Payne can do with these boys.

Pitching is the only weak spot for this team. Hopefully Grindstaff will be fully recovered from blowing out his knee in football.

Pitching may be the only weak spot, but that is one area you don't want to be weak in. Who are the top four pitchers?

In addition to the good hiring of Payne, I understand he has added an assistant coach who will be 'big' for the program. Ryan Presnell, an Elizabethton baseball and football standout who played baseball very successfully at Furman is inked. He has gone right to work after returning from Iraq. Glad to see him there. I can't think of anyone I would have rather had than him.

 

Pitching is a work in progress..........I'll get back to you on that one, although Grindstaff and Guinn are pretty much settled in.

 

The young men began thier conditioning on Monday following thier football loss at Boone. Good to see them excited about the game.
