It depends on the player. A coach must correct players in different ways. Some you can yell at others you have to comfort. Its a huge job, as a coach, to know how to get each player going individualy. A coach should never curse a player at the high school level. It happens everyday, but it is not neccesary.

its ok for them to yell at you to a certain extent ..it keeps you in line and lets you know whose in charge and not to disrespect them...but its not good when they call you stupid or sumthin like that..

I believe that its ok to yell at a player till a certain extent. Because if you dont let a player know when he is making mistakes he will continue to make mistakes and wont care because there is no consequences. But on the other-hand coaches have to realize that they are not their players parents and making the wrong move can cause the coach to get into trouble. So basically what im trying to say is its really not a big deal to yell at players you just have to watch what you say and make sure you are yelling for the right reasons and not trying to embarass the player in front of other players!

Yes, if the kid just did something stupid that deserves anger (unsportmanlike conduct, late hit, cheap shot, etc.)

I agree with both of you. You shouldnt worry about getting yelled at most coaches only do it to keep your head in the game and to help improve yourself and not yelling at a player when he makes mistakes can actually hurt a player. And cursing a player is never acceptable for any reason. When a coach stops yelling when you make mistakes it maybe possible that he is giving up on the player. So yes yelling at a player has a good side and a bad side.

Couldn't agree more. Some of the best coaches(John Wooden for example) knew how to coach their players. Some respond well to being chewed out, some do not. But one thing, is true you will eventually get yelled at. When the ystop yelling, they stop caring.

i think yelling at the players is good gets there addreniline rushing and makes them want to do better
