Disagree. I think that the team that comes out and plays hard and limits mistakes and makes the game a slobernocker can cause Alcoa to lose concentration and cause them to make some mistakes. They can and have been beat, teams just got to believe they can play with Alcoa and not buy into all the hype surrounding this team.

Agree...Alcoa was pretty rattled early on in the game against Maryville...and they haven't really been in a close game since late September vs. Mccallie...they are beatable, but it would be tough to beat them with their talent

I've been out of town most of the week, and I wasn't able to access Coach T. But my wife has kept all the newspapers and recorded the 11pm sports news while I was away. I didn't want to miss anything from the game with the Maryville Rebels.

What I saw on WBIR, NBC Channel 10 in Knoxville just gives support to the title of this thread.

Thursday night, they showed a clip of #40 Kevin Dyer on his 50+ yard TD against Red Bank, then, during the highlight of his run, they asked the quesion "Do high school players use steroids?"

To me, that is a smack in the face of Kevin Dyer, his family and the Central program. I don't know Mr. Dyer personally, but I can assure you that the CHS staff would not tolerate the use of ANY illegal substance.

WBIR should be ashamed of themselves and issue a public apology to the Dyer family and the Central program.

I don't know Farragut is good...prove it. Ask Oak Ridge...

I went and found Zach Helton after the game and shook his hand. He's a good kid, I'm sure y'all thought I hate him. Nothing could be further from the truth. He's a class act, in an offense that relies on him and Gaston waaaaaaay too much.

No reason to hang your heads Cats. Good season!! MHS will go on and win it for all of East TN!

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
    • I know the RB from OR he’s fast and has good hands. Is good on special teams also. Didn’t want to play defense over to the Ridge.
