I am not here to argue either way. I was just giving the Oneida side of it because that is what I am familiar with. As for the scholarships their may have been more money given to SHS students but because of smaller numbers there is a better chance to get one at Oneida. Look at the Jeffers scholarships, they give several $16,000 scholarships to Tech every year.

I went to Oneida so of course I feel more strongly toward them. However I still want all of the county schools to succeed.

This is a basketball board so lets get back on topic. I still wish they would not play because nothing good can come from it but I don't get to make the decisions so I will be their cheering on the Indians of Oneida.

answer9:

You ARE a preppy, snobbish, rich little man! ;)

And I wish you had answered my pm's and scheduled baseball and softball games with us.

Who IS coaching softball? I've asked before but never gotten an answer yet! :o

By the way, Merry Christmas! (or would you prefer me to say "Happy Holidays"?)! :thumb:

People, no matter what anyone from Oneida or Scott says you will not change anyone's opinion on the subject of Oneida and Scott. Most people from this area are born and bred with the opinion that the other school is to be hated when it comes to basketball and football. (not how I feel).

Bottom Line: THE MORE YOU STIR IT, THE MORE IT STINKS!

No offense but I think this topic is tired and worn out....feel free to start another thread that actually discusses the basketball game....if you would like to continue this discussion refer back to the dozens of threads that have been started about this Oneida/Scott rivalry over the last few years on this website....good luck to both teams and to Coach Hall and Coach Windle.....Case Closed.....

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
