Chaisson Allen had a first quarter that most basketball players dream of with 15 first quarter points, and from that point, Oakland was pretty much able to control the game. It took a little bit for everybody else to get involved, but once they got going, it was hard for White County to do much of anything to stop it. Major kudos to Dejuan Epps, who was able to come off the bench and give Oakland 9 points at a point where Oakland was in a little bit of foul trouble.

Oakland shot well from the charity stripe as well, going 17-22. Highlight of the night would have to go to Jaffarious Wade, who hit a shot from halfcourt as the 3rd quarter ended to grow Oakland's lead from 12 to 15, really seemed to kill anything White County had going for them. Overall, a good win after a somewhat iffy performance against Warren County, onto Blackman.............

Good win for Oakland...it's all coming together...the Oakland Siegel game is going to be HUGE...sounds like that Pats had a pretty dominant performance tonight?

Its was a pretty good performance by Oakland, although we came out of the gate a little sluggish at the start of the 2nd half and White Co was able to put some things together and cut the lead down to 9 at one point, but that would be as close as they would get. I was real happy with the intensity that Oakland played with all game long, hopefully they can keep it up

Oakland handled this game like they should have. Like I said, they had a bad game against Warren County and knew it. They came out ready to play. Just to add to what Grad said, Allen had 15 first quarter White County only had 13 as a team in the first quarter.

Good game Oakland, Good luck White County

Actually the only scored 11, but hey whos counting? :thumb:

Scoring Breakdowns thru each quarter: End of 1st- Oakland 23 White County 11, Halftime- Oakland 37 White County 22, End of 3rd Quarter- Oakland 48 White County 33, Final- Oakland 68 White County 47

As far as the injuries go, its my understanding that both Chaisson and Jaffarious suffered injuries in the days leading up to the games, but they both played pretty well last night, so it looks like both injuries are pretty minor

    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
    • Maybe OR will be, but Farragut, nah, I don’t think anybody realizes how much of a bad situation that program is in currently. I’m sure they will build out of it, but the next 3 to 4 years are going to be a long climb up.
