Solomon
Can anyone explain the scenario in which the USA makes it to the SEMIS??? Yes. Korea wins and US wins. Or.......... Japan wins tonight and scores 8 or more runs in a 9 inning game and the US wins tomorrow. If Japan wins tonight and scores 7 or less runs then the US does not advance no matter the outcome. If Japan loses and the US loses......then I am not for sure. It will be whoever gives up the least amount of runs between the games played this round between the US, Mexico, and Japan. I looked at it, and I think for the US to advance if Japan and the US both lose, then the US could only lose 1-0, otherwise Japan will advance. I don't think there is anyway that Mexico can adavance, so they will basically be playing for pride and to keep the US out. The tiebreakers of this thing rival the US tax code and NFL salary cap in complexity. They are the rules of the IBF and can be found midway down the page at http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/worldclassic...tory?id=2307635 Hope that answers your question. And it's why I love baseball, stats and numbers! Edited March 16, 2006 by Solomon

I can handle that as long as he puts together the kind of season he did last year and improve on it!!
