Mitchell advances to 8AA final.

The Tigers defeated BTW 83-54 to advance to the title game tonight vs host Hillcrest. Young led the Tigers with 33 pts and 16 boards. Thornton aded 21 and 11 boards. Tim "Ray-Ray Ware led BTW with 27. I noticed coach Varnado from Haywood Co. was in the place.

I'm sure coach Varnado was there to watch the winner of the Hillcrest game. Call me crazy but unless Markeith Wilson gets crazy hot like he did the other night against Dyersburg, Haywood will probaly host Hillcrest. I just hope Mitchell can keep from getting upset because personally i feel they are the best AA team in the state. They are big, deep, fast, can shoot, run well. This is a very dangerous team playing with a chip on their shoulder after last year's early out against Haywood in there gym for substate which is a very tough place to play. I look foreward to seeing Mitchell in the boro.

Hopefully, we will go ahead and take care of business against Fayette Ware and punch them another ticket to Memphis like we have the past few years. What I would give to see a Bolivar, Mitchell, Haywood and Liberty final 4. But icant happen. Good luck to Mitchell though. I've only got to see them play once, but I would like to them play agian.

Haywood will beat Fayette Ware. Haywood wins substate.

Mitchell over Hillcrest. Mitchell wins over Fayette Ware in substate.

Great Matchups, just one round too soon, but oh well. Least we will get to see them play each other, and the two best in Bolivar and Mitchell are in oppsite brackets and it won't be a repeat of two years ago when the two best AA teams in Bolivar and Raleigh Egypt played in the first round.

that mitchell game last night was awesome...the first 3 minutes of the game was enough to see and go home....it's always funny to see other teams try to outrun mitchell without having enough bodies....they look ready and focused for a state tourney run...where was the left hand kid last night and what is up with powell galilee?????

The left hand kid is Jarvis Jones and he is out for the year with a knee injury. Powell id not score a lot of points and that was the game plan. Thornton and Thad had a mismatch inside and we fed the ball to them. Powell did finish with 6 assits.

We are playing as a team now and they are back to having fun.

Sounds like to me you are overlooking the fact that Haywood is in that bracket with Bolivar. So you are saying it is a given that Bolivar will beat Haywood. I am not so sure about that one. You must not know we beat Bolivar earlier this year. Yes, Galilee we should meet and talk a little basketball.
