Red Boiling Springs vs. Forrest

We've made it...the State brackets are complete.

Red Boiling Springs defeated Temple to make it to the State Tournament. They will face off in the quarterfinals against Forrest, who defeated Richland in their sectional. Though tournament time is a different story and anything can happen...their previous meeting went to the Lady Bulldogs by a score of 55-34 at the Eagleville Classic during the Christmas Holiday. It has been half a season ago and Red Boiling Springs was without one of their dominant players. However, March is a lot different than December. I hope to see a large fan base from both schools at the Murphy Center on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.

The winner will play either Oliver Springs or Madison Academy Magnet on Friday at 12:30.

Been reading a lot about RBS and Jackson Co and Summertown. I decided from what I read that Forrest doesn't stand a chance to advance at state let alone win a gold ball. I guess if experience counts for anything the first TSSAA state tournament I went to was 5 years ago for softball. Forrest wasn't suppose to be there we didn't have a chance, teams were going to beat us by this or that much. But we went anyway, all the way to the Championship game, took it to extra innings and came up short. Fine bunch of young ladies and a couple of eighth graders on that team are playing basketball for Forrest as Seniors this year. I'm sure not going to tell them they are wasting their time. We raise winners in Chapel Hill no matter what the score turns out to be.

Love all of you girls, Thanks for giving us your all.

great job ladies, congratulations Whitney on making it to the big dance in your senior year, I should see you there Wednesday

TNBballman, you gonna be there?

Oh yes you know I will be there! I'll be the one wearing red! I would not miss this for the world. You know how excited I can get...I think my excitement level has went through the roof. I'm driving everyone crazy as I can't wait until Wednesday. I took this week off from work in anticipation of their appearance at the Murph.

Where/What have you been up to these days, haven't seen you in a while?

Great post, jmoses. Looking forward to supporting these girls this week just like in Chattanooga 5 years ago. We'll be among the sea of Royal Blue on Wednesday in Murphy Center. Go Lady Rockets! We believe in you! You are a classy group of young ladies and will represent our community well.

Great post JMO. You are obviously a class act. Take care and good luck.

One word of advise. I have not seen RBS since the summer. They play hard and have a great coach. And their girls show allot a class. But even with our very young team, if we would have made our layup and foulshots, we would have played with them. And that was at their team camp where every other team was saying that the refs were not going to let RBS lose a game. At 'boro, it will be basketball, not wrestling. If you hit your 3s like you did against us, thus opening up the great inside game you have, you have a chance.

Sure, it was summer, they have gotten better over the year. But so have you. And no matter how great an 8th grader is, she is still a young 8th grader. I hear she has been through some wars this year and came out even a better player, but she is still an 8th grader. YOU HAVE A CHANCE IN THIS GAME. Play your hearts out. :thumb:

Good luck to RBS too. I have pulled for you all year. :D

    • While one may be inclined to perceive this narrative through a lens of fiction, it behooves us to recognize the inherent robustness of its credibility. For those seeking veracity, the surest path lies in direct engagement with the primary source. Let us adhere diligently to the matter at hand, focusing our deliberations on the matter of paramount importance: the identification of the individual most suited to assume the mantle of head coach. I invite introspection and discourse regarding not only personal preferences but also the criteria defining merit and suitability for this esteemed position.
    • If it’s one single kid then that argument would make sense. He’s essentially had to replace his entire coaching staff in the first two seasons, and like it’s been pointed out only one left for a better job. The two most talented players in the area both left, and number of others are actively trying to leave, including the head basketball coaches son. Also, the rumors of financial problems and over spending by Jones. Unpaid bills, missing money, inability to fundraise, has the boosters sick of being hit up for money.    Im saying that is the definition of a poorly run disorganized program. If you want to pretend it’s a well oiled machine maybe you should take your maroon glasses off. All I know is I wouldn’t let my boys play in that kind of mess.
    • It usually gets tiresome when posters play characters on the board, but I must admit that I’ve found some humor in wingback’s take on this art form.  However, his rundown on the potential candidates seems as much fiction as his persona!
