Final HL 71 CHS 57

The scoreboard was incorrect at the end of regulation.

HL had one of their worst shooting nights of the season.

They missed open jumper after open jumper for much of the game.

HL also missed more free throws than ever before.

Thankfully, Josh Henley had about 20 rebounds.

CHS post men were solid players and had nice games.

The game turned when HL's pressure defense lead to transition baskets to begin the fourth. After that, the momentum ignited the Warriors.

To win a game of this level shooting poorly showed something.

HL has a special team. Very well-coached and determined to win.

They did have an off night from the three point line, but in the paint, they were flawless. Henley had a huge night on the boards, and the penetration towards the basket by Jones and Crutcher was huge.

The three ball will have to fall for Hunters Lane against Shelbyville...no question.

They must have been flawless inside. If they shot bad from outside they burned it up inside the strip. I doubt they shot under 40-45%! They scored 71 points and their season average is 71.5 ppg. This is against good and bad teams so they must have had a good overall game shooting. Coincidently they give up 57.5 ppg this year and gave up 57 against CHS. That's spooky. Looks like they played up to their average on D and Offense.

The paper stated Henley had 7 rebs they must have missed the 2 in front of that 7.He had four rebs in one play where he kept rebounding on the offensive boards and missing the put back.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
