Information on Cosby eagles state run

It's true Cosby plays a slow down style of basketball, and only averaged about 45pts a game because of their lack of shooters. They play 3 players at least 6'5 or better and like to pound the ball inside to the big man who is around 6'8 and a decent defensive player. Lots of back door cuts like a Princeton style offense(Cosby is infamous for this stalling the ball style of play!) Other than the big guys Cosby just isn't that deep, they play 3 freshmen guards because they have too not good for much other than a couple of fouls, turnovers, and getting the ball to the big guys. The 34-1 record is a joke it means nothing, look at Cloudland they are at the Boro with a losing record! Hampton was a much better team than Cosby too bad only the JV team was able to make the trip and the Varsity bus got lost on the way. I would have to think Humboldt by at least 40 or more. Cosby players have never seen an athlete before none of them even play pick-up games in the off season they prefer to focus on football and tennis then. It should be a fun field trip for the Eagles to go watch those Humboldt guys play though. Good luck and God bless.

I just looked at some pictures of Cosby in action and they look kind of slow to me. Looks like ACC(West) against the Ivy league(East). I believe some full court pressure defense will have looking them for oxygen.

Hey you Cosby fans are unlike any other that I have seen on coacht. You trash your team with tongue firmly in cheek. Is that an East Tennessee defense mechanism or what? May have something to do with that thrashing the Easterners took at the hands of the Westerners last year. You say your teams are terrible so that when you lose you can say I told you so, and if you luck up and win you can say "Surely you guys didn't take me seriously about not being any good." Why don't you me people MAN UP and tell us what you really feel about your team. Or is that asking the impossible?

If you have any questions how we feel about our Cosby Eagles, then all you have to do is look at all the threads that have been started about them, and then sit back and read. We think that Cosby is the greatest, plain and simple. But why would we be dumb enough to get on here and give all the West TN people a free scouting report? :thumb:

The west people has told us how awful we were and lucky we weren't playing out there and how sorry the competition in the east is for so long this year I guess we have just decided you were right. I mean we did lose 1 game this year. Good teams don't lose any right. To be totally honest Cosby is a very good ball team and we love em here in Cosby. We have been to the Boro several times in the last 10-15 years but have yet to come away with the gold ball. We have excellent leadership to go with good size and amazing talent to hopefully get us over the hump this year and bring it home. We know it wont be easy though as I believe we got a tough first round matchup with Humboldt .

Well, I did not expect Cosby fans to get on here and just give out a scouting report about their team. I was simply womndering what other East Tennesseeans thought about Cosby. The West runs TN basketball so when you come to the Boro and see all of the talent from West TN and after we take the crown in all three classes just remember that I told you so. I am a Humboldt graduate and a current MTSU student, I know basketball, and I am going to give you a FREE SCOUTING REPORT ON HUMBOLDT! They are quick, they have senior leadership, the underclassmen are tough, they play tight defense, they can shoot the rock, and (what I consider there best feat.) they get every rebound that comes off the glass. So, your 34-1 record may be impressive to you people in East TN, but West TN basketball requires you playing some tough teams. You may think y'all are awesome, but who have you played. The twenty teams y'all have played have an average record of 13-15. You blow out sorry teams and play decent teams really close. Bring on all challengers. The West will shine again at the Boro just as they did last year.

We have some of the best, but we are actually shoing a little class and just waiting for the game. We have never seen your team and therefore are not trashing them for each game they have won and lost. WHO CARES ABOUT WHO WE HAVE PLAYED. ALL TEAMS MATCH UP DIFFERENTLY AND IF "YOU KNOW BASKETBALL" THE WAY YOU CLAIM TO YOU WOULD KNOW THAT. COSBY MAY WIN, MAY NOT WIN. BUT WHY NOT CONGRATULATE THEM FOR BEING THERE AND SHUT UP ABOUT HOW GREAT HUMBOLT IS. Don't give free ones away. Both teams will get a free scouting report in the first half on Mar 15.

 

BED2I --Deloach quit giving away all of the goods.......Just kidding.....it really doesn't matter.....the band geek "old eagle 24" hasn't touched a basketball court in his life not unless this is Dexter Manning talking all of the Cosby trash :thumb::D:D:D

Ok. here you go. Congratulations on making it to the state. i am simply letting everyone know that 34-1 is not as great as everyone makes it out to be. i am not putting y'all down, evidenlty y'all have been doing something right to get here. Others are saying that y'all are going to "run us out of the gym." so i am just defending my team. I agree; we will see Wednesday. So that gives me a week to talk as much as i want to, so if you have a problem with it just don't reply to my "mumbo jumbo bull crap."

You are right; it really does not matter because out talent talks for itself. who is this (dollar 1906)?

      And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…

      Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.

      Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.

      After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.

      Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
