If Jackson County ever makes it to Murphy Center, its normally over with you can give them the gold. There is a reason why they are 16-1 now, in the state tournament, with one silver and four gold balls.....and that reason would be......

anyone have an answer..........

the correct answer would be Jim Brown

With all the doubt I have voiced concerning your team, I must eat my crow and plainly state that Jackson County rules Class A ball in Tennessee. :)

Now that I have done that, I may have hurt your chances in the finals. :thumb:

Chances hurt? Doubtful!

These girls earn their way honestly. From 3 yrs. old to their senior year in high school, they work hard to make it to this one game. You've gotta love and respect that! That's why you think sometimes that JC fans can't take a jesture. We do sometimes get bent out of shape, but it's because we love our girls!

I've had the pleasure of watching Jim Brown's teams since he began coaching

and early years we struggled. He began coaching his girls when they were very

young and instilled in them what he wanted, give him a tape or let him see them play and he will figure out a defense that finds a way to stop the other team(his

strongest point) and a way for his team score enough to win .I have seen us win

championship after championship often with less talent. You want find anyone that

works harder and dedicates as much of their time as he does.He will be the first

to tell you he has coached a good bunch of girls thats bought into his system. He's

an excellant teacher of the game that's revealed by all the players now playing college basketball.I'm thankful he's our coach at Jackson CO.

Yes they do!! :) Our Lady Blue Devils rule Class A!!! We love basketball down here in JC, but most of all we love our Lady Blue Devils, and watching them go for their tournaments and winning them in good fashion.

Everyone here in JC is so proud of our girls, and the efforts they gave in AA and now in A!! Its an almost certainty that the Lady Blue Devils will roll tomorrow against whichever team they play!! Good luck girls and lets bring that gold where it belongs, 7a!! :thumb:

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
