The Tennessee Raiders 11/U Orange team from Cumberland County will be fun to watch. They have one of the top 11 year old post players in the state. The rest of the girls have experience on 5 different elementary teams in the county and most played AAU ball last year. First tourny is March 31 thru April 2 in Lebanon. Will also be playing in the sub-state on April 7. Good luck to all!!!

Are you kidding Jackass?? The Tn Raiders below average? What games did you watch? The Lady Raiders dominated the first three games of the tournament & lost by a slim margin (5 points I believe) in the finals. This was their 1st tournament of the season. Everyone of the 11/u teams I watched this weekend in Lebanon were very good. Far from below average.

The 11/U Orange Raiders are mostly made up of last year's 10/U Blue Angels. They have not lost either of their post players from last year. We'll find out how far above or below average they are this weekend in the East Sub-State. Their defense looked outstanding this past weekend, but shooting percentage needs to improve.

I love it when people think they know what they are talking about but have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Tennessee Raiders-Orange 11U team is going to be a team to be dealt with in the sub-state. We still have that "great" post player you were referring to, plus that "great" point guard, plus several other "great" players. As far as us being below average, I beg to disagree!!!! We played well this weekend considering most of these kids are new to this team and do not play together year around (like most AAU teams at this age)!! We did not shoot well and still only lost by 4 (25-21) to a very good MC Magic team!! These kids are far above average and can contend with the best teams in the state of Tennessee. This group of kids want to win more than any 11U teams that I have seen and have the ability to do so. And for you Jackass...check us out this weekend at the sub-state in LaFollette...then let me know how below average we are!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the tourney this past weekend in Lebanon. Shooting lacked, defense was good. They will need better rebounding and scoring to advance in the substate tourney. The Raiders Orange Team has a long row to hoe in the east Substate. It looks like they play the TN Xtreme in the second round of the tourney. If they win the first round game.

They are mountain girls though, maybe they know how to drive tractors.

I am a big Lady Jets fan. There are some future Lady Jets on this team. Best of luck and PLAY HARD OR DON'T PLAY.

Alright, Listen Up everybody! Here's the most accurate scouting report on the Lady Raiders. The Oragenge team has had trouble with their back court. However, it's not due to lack of tallent ( These guards are tops in the state), But the girls just havent had the opportunity to gel. This team does have some size in the paint with 2 5'8" big girls, these two work very well together in coach Gardner's 2 post system. Out on the wing there is some absolute pure tallent, the hassler kid is as athletic as it gets. Deffensively- these girls wont be blown out by any team this season and that is accredited to some great deffense. This team hussles that's the bottom line. The Lady Raiders dont match up well with a big team that runs the floor. These girls dont have trouble getting back but the size ( not only hieght but strength) really hurt them in the phi slamma jamma c-ship. The one thing that will bring this team certain success is balance. The pressure has been on the post play throughout these first few games. If they can get some scoring out of the backcourt to go along with their great post play then these girls are a sure thing!

    • Understand the young thing.  I was one of those.  Barely 17 when I graduated from high school and started college.  But redshirting for athletic purposes isn't doing them any favors, in my opinion.  Life isn't always going to be fair.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
