Some kid from Warren Co. threw against us this year in an early game. He came in to close and some of the Warren coaches/players were sayin he was throwin 92. Is there anybody out there throwing any harder that this?

Polk's Will Phillips was throwin like 92 or 93 mph

For Drew Hayes from Mckenzie it's normal for the radar gun to clock him at 93 when he pitches. So far in both games he pitched this year he's struckout 23 out of the 32 batters he has faced.

Hayes definitely throws hard!! If your gun is getting consistent readings of 93, I'd be in the market for another one though. Sometimes I think everyone on here uses the same gun. I think if the mitt pops it registers 90+.

I agree alot of people throw hard but trust me there are hardly and guys who can throw 90 @ all much less consistently.

The only numbers I would rely on are the ones the scouts come up with. If a kid is throwing 90+ there should be scouts there looking at him.

That was one of the reasons for my question about which gun is being used.

 

Most pro scouts are using Stalkers rather than JUGS. The Stalker picks up the ball closer to the plate and thus reads a couple of mph slower than the JUGS.

 

A lot of guys that can hit in the 90s will cruise in the upper 80s.
