4-0? Is that correct? How did blackman lose 4-0? I don't doubt anything about Dobyns Bennett, but for a team that has such a good defense to end up down by 4, just shocks me. Can somebody please give me some details?

The person who posted the score is a DB player. DB is also very strong this year, the win does not suprise me a whole lot, but the score kinda does. But if the score is true and they played with full strength then WAY TO GO DB

Actually, the entire region 1 is stronger this year. We're all beating up each other but do pretty well outside of the region. Sullivan South, SH, MO West Mo East are all doing well and Greeneville seems to be getting their act together late in the season.

DB played a great complete game against a very good Blackman team. This was a game in which everything DB tried worked for them. Good game Blackman and Good Luck with the rest of your season!

By the way Mueller is not a player on DB

Number 8, I don't believe i've ever questioned any of the scores you have posted even though some (like the farragut game) were not expected. I dont see why anyone would post wrong information on this site but ill make sure to double check next time just for you.

It was a very difficult game, but you have to realize that 2 of Blackman's starters did not play, several of us were playing with injuries and at no point was the entire normal starting lineup in for Blackaman. But these are just excuses and DB deserves all the credit. they cleary outplayed us and deserved to win the game.

Blackman was down two very good starters, Micah Morrissey and Tyler Clem. In the second half only 2 of the 9 starters were in the game that started the first half. However, DB is a good team and should earn a lot of respect. They will go far in the tournament. There is no doubt Blackman is struggling here lately, but better now than later. Hopefully things will turn around once we get completely healthy and the district tournament comes around. We also tied Gallatin today 1-1 and actually played very well in the first half, with a new line up that I thought worked very well together for the first time in several games. Although we were down 1-0 in the first half, the subs coming off the bench today finally evened the match at 1 a piece.

Most people are overlooking Blackman right now, as they should, but I believe it will turn around soon.

Why was Blackman down two? Were they injured and will they return soon? I've seem them play in the past and know they should not be taken lightly.

    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
