JO BYRNS VS. MONTGOMERY CENT. SCRIMAGE

Recommended Posts

Great attendance considering it being a scrimage, dont think either team had any real injuries. mont. cent. had a few whoppers up front along with some real tallented linebackers. cent was unable to move the ball very effectivly, but did show some potential for some big plays this fall, they did have a few playmakers but was unable to get them lose for the big gain. As for jo byrns very balanced attack through the air and on the ground had some big gainers. offence strugled at times due to timing and lack of having all the baseball players back to play, have some very bright spots filled with a couple of guys that havent played in a couple years, these two made some big plays so the fall is looking very bright. defence very very dominant is all i can say about that even though the reigon co MVP at linebacker and a cover corner did not play until the last series due to baseball. JO BYRNS should pick up where they left off last year baring serious injury this fall. overall rating for each team considering just two weeks practice I give mont cent an 83 jo byrns overall a 92 final outcome was jo byrns first team 3 scores mont cent first team 0 good luck to both teams this fall work hard!

Jo Byrns looked good, had alot of mistakes, but seems like there arent any big holes, or nothing that cant be fixed. Granted Montgomery Central isnt a very good team, it is still a great sign for things to come. Not very much longer, until we find out if this years team has what it takes to bring the fever back to Cedar Hill.

definently needs some improvement especially on the offensive line. some players have the talent and the physical ability to play those position but they need to take it upon themselves to go out and take the position and work for it instead of letting the coaches assign the positions to them. show the coaches what you can really do in practice. just had to get that off my chest. overall i was very impressed. the thing i was worried most about was if we could gel as a team on the field under pressure and we did a very good job of doing that. the whole game flowed smoothly and i am just thankful that no one got hurt. our QB steped it up and showed us that he deserves the position and can be a leader. what i was most impressed with is our upcoming seniors that stepped it up and took charge of the game and were leaders to the other players. we all fed off of each other and that is what made us succesful. defensively we are definently a better unit than we were last year. a lot of work in the weight room by everyone and one dedicated player that took it upon himself to get in shape, Tramont, really made a difference in the performance of the line and of the defensive machine itself. we lost a lot of talent in the seniors last year but i truly believe that this team has more talent and ability than we possesed last year but it is up to us if we utilize all of that ability and create a winning team. we could be even better than we were last year and could go just one game more. good luck to all of region 5. hope we send a team to Murphesboro.

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
