Whos the best sophomore players in the state?(this year) can anyone come up with a top 10?

#14, Dean Myers, from CPA would be a good candidate. I've been to most of CPA's games and i cannot beleive he is only a sophomore. The way he controls and passes the ball is unreal. Another good candidate from CPA is Curran Goad. He is as close to professional as it gets. He has repeated sophomore year 2 times but i am sure he will pass this year...

i agree with what you said about alex showing up big against quality teams. but stephen also shows up. i dont know why you think that but thats your opinion. he's has some clutch goals against MBA and Ryan. hes a great player all around.

well from watching him play in travel against some of the best teams in the south it just seems that he does not allways show up like alexander tends to do. but he deffinitly steps it up in high school though.

o happypappy, you are a retard...hah love you buddy..also Dean Myers, Stephen Morissey, Alexander Darsinos, and Jordan Leedle..all these players are at the top...and they all play for TNFC 90, how ironic

also they arent the only players to be mentioned, you have left out the other 3 starting sophomores for brentwood who all play for tnfc..Danny Rayburn, Bradley Jacobs, and Jacob Dekornfeld, with the best, most mentioned being Jordan Leedle....hands down the bext sophomore class in the state, and if anybody disagrees i would love to hear your arguments..

Well of course I am a little bias here but Matt Reed is a great midfielder for his high school team and ODP, he was also put up front this year about half the time on his high school team where he scored 13 goals. Plays defender for TNFC and has done a fantastic job along with Danny Rayburn back there.

Austin Hayes return, after tearing his ACL and MCL, to High School Soccer and now ODP and TNFC is stronger and better than ever who I consider one of the best defenders around

Of course you are missing Charles Rodgiguez, who also plays for TNFC, Father Ryan and ODP, plays an outstanding midfielder for TNFC and High School and defender in ODP.

All these boys who play for TNFC are fantastic players, but the others you mentioned like Muth are also fantastic.

Brandon Tarr for sure.. that kid from knoxville

Unfortunately he doesn't play high school anymore, he plays for the U-17 National Team.

Joseph Muth on Farragut, starting right back. Incredible in the air, has scored 5 or 6 this year on corners alone, and plays huge in the back.

i strongly believe danny rayburn from bhs is the best sophmore defender in the state, matt lightfoot is also very good, but joseph i dont think is at their level

.......8 or 9 goals?..wut division iz this?....not a smart allek comment..j/w

Wait am i misunderstanding you? You dont think 8 or 9 goals is very good for a sophmore right back who only plays up on set plays. Muth plays for Farragut. I think Muth had 3 goals in the South Carolina tournament, and he scored the winning goal vs Bearden in the District Final in Overtime. He comes up big in games. He is also a very strong defender, and rarely gets beat.

Dean Myers from CPA should certainly be considered

obviously he is considered and i have talked to him about it and he said that you dont have to be a brandon tarr to be a star in in the small private school divisions. but he is very good and everyone from TNFC 90 should be considered, others are questionable, considering every good spohomore player in TN plays for them or is wanting to play. Pat kelly is an exception, he is a frosh and is very good playing up this year.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
