Sad news from Metro

Winston Gamble, the long time Maplewood coach who recently retired after spending his last three years at Hillwood, passed away at home yesterday. He was a poster here on coacht for several years. He went by the name of Panthergam and Topperman, I believe. He was a great guy. We had some fun times shooting the bull.

I realize many of you that post are not plus members and may not be able to post on the basketball board right now. I would just ask that you keep his wife Maria and the rest of the family in your prayers. Also, if you are in touch with any of his ex players please let them know. I think the family would appreciate hearing from them.

 

Visitation will be at Cole and Garrett in Goodletsville Sun. 4-8, Mon. 12-8 and Funeral 11:00 a.m. Tuesday

Coach was a good man and did a lot for the kids at Maplewood. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family.

I always enjoyed his posts and the excitement he had when talking about the game. He always emailed me the score, win or lose. Condolences to his family.

This news was a total shock. Coach Gamble was a well respected man and coach.

I doubt anybody from his family will see this, but we'll miss him here on coacht. Really nice guy, wish I'd had a chance to meet him in person.
