gotmilk?
Bonds is a cheat and a fraud and most of the country except for a few people here and there dont even recognize Bonds as the 2nd HR leader of all-time! In my opinion, its still Aaron then "the Babe"!

Solomon
I am glad Roger is back. Anytime one of the greatest pitchers ever comes back and pitches any baseball fan should be happy. Yes he didn't win many games last year but that wasn't his fault. Go look up his ERA Solomon and tell me it was his fault he didn't win more games. I agree with bledsoe, Bonds is the best baseball player ever even with the steroids situation surrounding him. He was on his way to this distinction even before 1998 like someone previously stated. Maybe everyone should just put the media frenzy aside and watch 2 of the greatest baseball players of all-time take the field this summer. For Clemens: Off the top of my head, I think it was 1.87. In 90 it was 1.93 and he won 21, that is why I said I'd take 1990 over his performance last year. I never said it was his fault he only won 13. If should have won 25 last year. My point was that we're all just assuming he's going to replicate his performance of last year, and well, I just don't see it happening. Bullpen has been problem for Houston. How many leads will they blow for him this year? How big of a hole will they be in when he gets back? How many games, realistically will he win? 10? GIven the past couple of seasons I'll say closer to 7 or 8. As for Bonds: Greatest player of all time? No way. I'll take Ruth (everyone forgets he won 100 games too as a pitcher - imagine how many home runs he would have if he hadn't pitched), Mantle, Dimaggio, Williams, or Musial just as a position player. Bonds is Top 50, but no way in the world is he the best. And if you want to watch him as his best, then go back and watch a Barry Bonds highlight video from 1989-2003, because all you are watching now is a broken down player who needs to get out now. Talk about him all you want.....He'll be a first ballot selection to Cooperstown.....I've been a fan since the early 90s when he played for Pittsburgh and I'm still a fan today..... In my opinion, its still Aaron then "the Babe"! What about the illegal substances Aaron and Ruth used? Amphetamines and alcohol, respectively. Does that make them cheaters? FWIW, Ruth is the greatest of all time, but Bonds is much closer than most people give him credit for.
gotmilk?
BUT, He is the Greatest Baseball Player of All Time...... Pete Rose cheated and everybody considers him the best hitter of all time.... Most of America will never consider him the greatest of all-time, that is just the opinion of you and few others! What does Rose's situation have to do with him hitting? He was a manager when all of that happened! He is the greatest hitter of all time and should be in the HOF as a player and none of his playing numbers were affected by his situation! Where all of Bond's numbers should have an *

Not sure where your heading with the Amphetamines, but I didnt know that alcohol was a performance inhancing drug? And I know alot of people say that steroids wasnt banned by MLB until 2001, but for goodness sakes cant people see that they have always been illegal? Thats just like saying that meth isnt banned in the NFL, so its OK to use it! The % of America did the same thing I did when Bonds hit 715 and that is turn the other cheek, because is was nothing more than another HR! McGwire used to be one of my favorite players going back to his days in Oakland and I always thought that Palmeiro was a class act, now I could care less about what either one of them has done on the field! And Canseco has always been a jerk just like Bonds!
