What an incredible, exciting, fast-paced hockey game that probably 30 people tuned into last night. Edmonton went up 3-0 and I was just about to turn it off when Carolina scored. Hung on a little longer (the pace was incredible) and it becomes 3-2. Bam Bam then 4-3 Carolina. Then BAM, on a brilliant skating move. they tie the score. And then Rolleson, the Oiler goalie goes out (and is now lost for the entire series with a knee injury) and, as the game is winding down, the replacement goalie and defensemen get crossed up on a simple clearing play and Rod Brind D'Amour grabs the loose puck and tucks it into the net with 30 seconds left. BUT WAIT, Edmonton bull rushes the net and Hurricane goalie Ward stops shot after shot, and then finally stops one-with his stick gone-right at the freaking doorstep with his glove. Game over.

Wow-let me tell you- if you are just a SPORTS fan, you've got to check this out. Just an incredible pace, incredible stick handling, incredible athletic plays time after time. You don't even have to know the rules to just enjoy what's going on.

For hockey fans-you've got to be impressed with this matchup, which might be altered heavily in Carolina's favor with the Edmonton injury to their goalie.

The new rules make this really something special. You can also see that the Preds aren't the team yet to make it to this round.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
