Strange things that have happened in a high school game

I have only heard this story, but awhile back, in the late 70's maybe, scott high was playing and there was a low fog. the fog was so bad that the players and refs could not see well at all. scott high was punting, a player on the opposing team ran by the punter with his hand up to make sure that it wasn't a fake. the punter fell down on purpose, got the penalty, giving scott the first down.

Back in the 70's at scott high they were playing taft youth center and a taft player ran a kickoff or a punt back for a td and jumped the fence and kept going they caught the guy about a mile down the road......still carrying the ball. true story my brother was palying for shs when it happened

This isn't the strangest thing that ever happened, but.....

 

In 2001, Blackman's first year of varsity football, we were playing at Hendersonville, who went on to be state runners-up, and we were on the verge of beating them. They were kicking about a 30 yard field goal in the last few minutes of the game. One of our guys came through the line and blocked James Wilhoit's kick and then another guy hit him. The refs called roughing the kicker, even though we blocked Wilhoit's kick, and they got the ball back, and a couple of plays later scored a touchdown to win 23-21. How the heck can you rough the kicker when you block the kick????

At a ballgame in Bruceton several years ago. you know on cold night some people want to set in their cars and stay warm. Well after halftime the teams came back onto the field and this older man shifted his car into drive and the car went onto the field. several fans and players got caught under the car. That stopped the cars being parked around the field.

 

 

This was a playoff game! The accident happened during the first play from scrimmage in the game, not after halftime. The game was delayed about an hour while the broken fence was removed and the injured people (one or two, the most serious a broken leg) attended to. No players were involved, as play was on the other end of the field from the out of control car. I think the incident was in the mid 1990's.

This year in Clay Co. the refs stopped the game because there was a male bat and a female bat.......um........um........ on the field together. They called for Clay Co.'s trainer and he threw a towel over them and took them to the woods and let them go. Held the game up for about tem minutes. Now that was funny!
