I would hope that every team remembers who they played the night before come Saturday morning. That kind of memory lapse would cause some kids parents to worry

Lawrence Co. has owned the series with Giles lately but this year's Giles team has really impressed me with the way they've played the last two weeks (four quarter scrimmage with Tullahoma & week zero game with Mt. Pleasant). Right now the folks at Giles Co. just don't believe that they can be stopped on offense and that kind of confidence is a great thing to have in your corner. The line is big and physical. Edgmon, Perez, and Dunnavant are all tremendous players who can score. The Bobcats have a good kicker in #21 (I can't remember his name).

If Giles County's defense plays the way they did against Marco Dailey & Co. (The Mt. Pleasant Tigers) last Friday night then they are going to be awfully tough to beat.

This year's "Cowbell Battle" should be the best in quite sometime :o

GC seems to always under estimate LC.

Plus - - This year LC really has a very, very good defense; a strong offensive line, tall recievers, a very good quarterback, and a hard nose runningback.

For GC to have a chance they will have to dominate all phases of the kicking game and force turnovers.

Trust me olympian, we are taking nothing to chance, we've been killing each other on the practice field and have been breaking the vcr watching filmn to prepare for this game. I belive Lawrecneburgs defensive front is small but quick and strong. It should be a game to remember, and i agree with my teammates, on saturday morning you WILL know you played Giles County

His name is John Stafford, and yea he can boot it in the endzone on a kickoff 99% of the time. He's an awesome kicker who practices as hard at his kicking as the line does on their tackling, which you can see from last fridays game is quite alot

    • Yeah, but if he goes to Science Hill they are guaranteed at least a win over Kingsport and that's basically the NET Superbowl
    • I expect Sevier County might be pretty good, perhaps Mo West as well.     But I don't see either of them getting out of round 2.          The rest of the region gets smoked in round 1.            Except for those once-in-a-blue-moon anomaly years the NET big schools are pretty much the same every season.
    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
