From what I know and have heard....JCM's offense is down this year...especially at the start of the season I'm sure they will feel the effects of losing Ricky Borner but the defense should be very good. Hopefully the Cougars can pull off the upset and get off to a very good start and gain a lot of momentum and confidence.

Do you have a "gut" feeling about this game my "VG" friend? The YANKER's head is spinning over this one. I keep going back and forth. I have not seen us yet but here bad things about our offense.

My heart goes out to you this weekend YANKER. You are exactly where HC fans were last week. Looking defeat in the eye and hoping your team can some how find a way to prevail against and beat a very good team, but knowing they probably wont. I hope you have a surprize ending friday night (since you have predicted a loss). Good luck to JCM against G-Town, and your quest for 2nd in the region. :P

You would think there to be much more activity on this thread with Germantown fans speaking out. Either they aren't worried about JCM or their fan base has become complacent - which is a bad thing! Anyone who comes to JCM thinking they will be a pushover has another thing coming - in particular a hard knock in the helmet by Hogsett!!! :justwrestle:

Your prediction for this game may be on target my "Ever Prideful" friend, but do not think for a minute that JCM shares your quest for a 2nd place finish in the region. The same team that was runner-up last year will repeat this year. The YANKER has spoken!!!!!

We agree my young Cephus.

Well I feel much better about the Cougars after watching that game. Although JCM did not score, they clearly showed they have the weapons to move the ball against a very good and stingy Germantown defense. JCM had their chance in the first half, but a dropped pass in the end zone proved costly. The JCM defense is as good as advertised. I`m trying to remember if Germantown ever got inside the JCM 20 yard line. The only points Germantown could produce was 33 yard FG with 3:45 left. I guess technically that would have put them inside the 20, but that was only after a JCM player lined up the nuetral zone as G`town was about to attempt a 38 yard FG. It`s a good thing for my heart that the kick would have been good from 38 yards as well.

Hogsett is SO good. He`s just a pleasure to watch. He was all over the field just laying killer hits on Germantown. I ended up holding the chains and the comments from the G`town coaches never stopped about the play of Hogsett. After watching him play last night, there is no way you are gonna make me believe that Chris Donald is any better than Tavis Hogsett.

I`m not much of a believer in moral victories, but to play as well as we did against a top 10 5A school left me feeling much better about JCM repeating as region champs. If the offense can continue to improve the Cougars will be tough to beat.

    • And that needs to go, Charter ,private ,magnet, city and any school that operates differently than pure public schools should be separated. What really needs to be done is address urban and rural. About all the usual powers have access to several kids from other schools period.
    • Sad deal. Hate it. So the coach that kicked her off is now fired??
    • Slightly off topic from a gender standpoint but just observed several boys volleyball games in the Knoxville area for a short spring season. The guys seemed to have a great time. There were several club players on each team but several football, basketball and tennis players involved. Knoxville Catholic, Maryville, Heritage, Knoxville West maybe William Blount had teams. Thanks to Coach Brent Carter from Knoxville Catholic/K2 for getting it together. I’m sure the coaches involved got several laughs trying to coach guys that really had no idea what they were talking about but pretty athletic and competitive. Catholic’s best basketball player told the coach he had played a lot of 2:3 and 1:3:1 but never a 3:3 LOL Maybe it will catch on with some more schools next year.
