I'll take Rhea and your seventeen to the bank, while I walk away laughing. If cookeville can keep it that close and hang 21 pts on you with a very young team - look out - Rhea wins a very hard fought battle.

Rhea 35

Owls 31

Don't kid yourself Cookeville is one of the best coached teams Owls face all year J.Joslin is awesome. Cookeville did not have a very young team they simply reloaded from last year, as did the Owls. See you at the nest. Btw the 21pts 14 0f them came off of busted plays a long pass and a fumble. Owls 'D' looked unstoppable the 2nd half of that game.

Gonna go with Owls--42 Rhea 10

Rhea County didn't lose a whole lot from a team that went 5-2 in region play last year, and over the last 6 games of the year went 4-2, losing to the 8th ranked team in the state (Red Bank by 7) and the 2nd ranked team in the state (Knox Central @ Knox Central by one point). That streak included wins vs. rival Cleveland at home and over White County (a playoff team) on the road. Ooltewah lost several key players, only returning 5 starters as has been well documented. However it is said that they have simply reloaded, rather than taking any steps back and rebuilding. Rhea County is a pretty solid club, as is Ooltewah, and I see this one coming down to the wire...

Rhea County - 27

Ooltewah - 23

But hey, come Friday night this post will be completely irrelevant...so does it really mean anything? Good luck to both teams.

Yeah..A loss is a loss though, Rhea went what, 5-6 last year? I do agree with you to some degree though. There's no way on God's green earth that Ooltewah wins by thirty something points, from watching the Cookeville game, what I can tell is that if Marshall is stopped, so are the Owls.

rhea should not have scored a TD last year but thanks to your extra players in strips rhea scored. If you were at the game last year you should thank them everyday, because the Owls could have easily scored 75 last season. OBTW how do you throw the ball 50 times and not once have a holding penalty. The pro's would have to hold a peewee squad at least once and rhea is by no means a pro team. lol

That was the most oblivious favoritism for one team I had ever seen in all my years of playing and following football. you should be ashamed that your team needed extra help to beat an Ooltewah team that had never beat Rhea in their history until last season. Why dont you, guys be real men by playing game the way it was intended to be played. JMO.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
