sportsfan23
Relax boys. First game of the year and the nerves showed. Also we played one of the best 5A schools in the state. When things settled down we showed we could play with them. Now the new boys have a taste of what's to come the'll be alright. I would like too know who comes up with these schedules. We play three 5A teams in our first four games!!!!!! Tough to get your confidence up when your getting beat up each week like that. If we go 2-2 in our first four it will be a good start. If anyone watched these boys in the scrimmages leading up to the season knows we''ll be alright. I agree the first game jitters hurt Rhea County and the stupid penalties killed them. The schedule thing is also true. If they would have played a team that already didn't play in week 0, that would of helped a lot. Ooltewah is a very good football team though. This will be an exciting game Friday night. Hixson will have to prove if they can put the shut down D on a better opponent, and Rhea County will have to prove if their for real or not. I got Rhea County in this one with a lot of motivation after last Friday.

DE32LB
I think Jim Jibberish is just that....full of jibberish. There is no way Hixson will win by 17 and yes, the correct spelling is HIXSON. Having a good tailback doesn't win the game. Rhea has many tallented players and I am sure they will shine on Friday as they send the wildcats running back to Hixson. GO EAGLES!!!!! 7mm
HYPOTHETICAL QUESTION... HOW FAR AHEAD OR BEHIND IN A GAME DO YOU NEED TO BE TO PUT YOUR SECOND STRINGERS IN THE GAME TO GET THEM SOME GAME EXPERIENCE AND NOT TAKE A CHANCE ON GETTING YOUR STARTERS HURT. I ONLY ASK BECAUSE OF THE POINT DIFFERENCE IN RHEA'S GAME AGAINST THE OWLS LAST WEEK WHERE THE ENTIRE FOURTH QUARTER THER WAS NO HOPE OF A COMEBACK. BenHasRisen
Hixson has more than just a good RB. Their senior QB is also a good FS. Their senior WR Greg Rivers is a great SS. Their DE leads the city in sacks. Their senior LB Eric Gillespie is a hard runner at FB, and was one of the best LB in the city last year. Hopefully DT Fred McDonald will be back healthy this week, the guy is a monster. He benches 350, squats 550. Hes a double team machine.
