I've got it McCallie should drop their scholarships and then join region 2 5a then there would not be any excuses.

Thats a joke uncfan13. Ooltewah & McCallie would be a great game IMO.

Guys what it really boils down to is the fact the whole city and county are in the athlete market and who has that dominate team or teams the athletes will go and that's the real truth. Everyone would like to play for a winning program including the parents. If a family moves in from outside the area one of their first questions would be. what is the best school in Chattanooga? Secondly then who has the best sports program?

Why does Ooltewah play Central? The answer is simple they share a feeder school they've got to, in the hopes of drawing those athletes to their program.

Let me use an example take Maryville. why cant any of the Blount County teams beat them? Its because they draw the best of the best in the whole county. Their second choice would be Alcoa, William Blount, and then Heritage. Chattanooga is the same way just on a larger scale.

I really do not understand why everyone sucker punches the Ooltewah program today, when just a little over ten years ago everyone wanted them for their homecoming game. They have come a long way and should get the respect they deserve they have earned in my book. Go Owls! McCallie, Baylor, Tyner, and Red Bank.

What I would love to see this year is McCallie, Ooltewah, Tyner, and Red Bank win the State Championship. Best of luck to all.

"Why does Ooltewah play Central?" Everyone needs at least one breather on their schedule?

In whatever order, the top 4 in Chattanooga this year are very tough. We will all argue about the order, but I think this will be a big year for the gold ball in Chattanooga!

McCallie and Boyd has the tough schedule the last two years.

You can't be serious, can you? Last year Ooltewah played Cookeville, Oak Ridge, Farragut twice, and DB. All four were ranked in the top 10 in 5AAAAA. Don't ever say that a 2AA or Division II school has a harder schedule than a 5AAAAA school. Oh yea, Ooltewah plays in the tought region in 5AAAAA too.

Who plays the toughest schedule depends on who you're asking. I look at McCallie's schedule and see: Riverdale, MBA, MUS, Brentwood Academy, Tyner, Alcoa, Father Ryan (who knew?), and if I heard correctly, some defending South Carolina state champion (Columbia High School). Running through DivIIAAA and playing several out-of-state opponents each year (like most DivII schools do) is about as tough as it gets.

That is a pretty tough schedule / division with those teams ranked in the top 10 in 5A. Division II has also seen some teams ranked pretty high as well. I think they have had at least one team in the 7 out of 9 years in existence ranked in the top 25............................................NATIONALLY

Compliments of the TSSAA, DIIAAA teams travel the length of the state at least once a year in addition to out of state games, usually against some of the best teams in those states. Must be a bear having to drive 30 minutes to run up and down the field on Central - wind sprints really take it out of a team.
