1. Taylor is a very good athlete.....that gives you 1! easy to defend if you have only one with breakaway talent.

2. I refuse to believe that the Q.B. situation hasn't been a BIG topic at coaches meetings all season.

3. Coach B is a big boy and doesn't need me or anyone else to defend him from armchair Q.B's who think they know what goes on.

Kob no talent did you watch the same game i did?Taylor is an awesome athlete and the walker valley game he put on one of the best performances ive seen!!!!!Fanatic all the eggs in one basket?Thank goodness we have an egg we usually dont,we had a back up qb they ran the whole spring with was actually in a battle for the starting job then summer came and he spit it out and quit.We have the best to options with holman and bain.If you dont think they worked with holman then how did whey come up with all those misdirection plays out of the single wing and bain is a sophmore. At any level 3rd string doesnt get a whole lot of work.get a clue!!!!Coach brown and his whopping 4 man staff have done excellent and will come up with something to enable us to compete.

Your exacctly right BUT why didnt the kid come back out to play and I know Holman has gotten alot of snaps but he is NOT a QB, great athlete yes not a QB. There are others. I have stood with others in and listened to coach brown say "you better protect HIM if you want to have a season". If he knew that going into the season then he should have a backup plan. Dont tell me he dont have options cause he does.

As far as his coaching staff goes......thats HIS decision to only have 4.Its a fact that good people have offered their help and expertise. If you havent played for him then you wouldnt understand. He wants everything his way and not have anyone on the sidelines to give a different opinion then he should be held accountable for it.

What kind of hit did the Q.B. take? Were you even at the game or just relying on "what you hear"? I'm sure the coaches went with the best option available. "Typical for WCHS" was getting embarassed every year till you finally made a decent hire to run your program. The biggest fault that coach Brown has is he has made very poor choices in job selection. He has done wonders with the awful programs he has taken over and I just wonder what he could do if given the chance at a school with decent talent and good asst. coaches year in and year out. I know, I know....you have ALL KINDS of talent at Sparta, just like I hear about all the wasted talent up in Pikeville. I came to your Cookeville game and had a great time and it was a really good game but there was not any real speed or talent on either team. This Friday try watching Clevelands end during warm-ups and see what REAL TALENT and speed look like. Do the same when Rhea Co. and Red Bank and even Brainerd roll in. Size does not win at the 4A level, speed does and Sparta does not have it. Keep working hard coach B and don't let the idiots get you down.

Listen oldkob you are way off. You obviously THINK you know coach brown and you havent a clue. I have played for him and I have been a fan. I think he does what he thinks is right but he my problem is he doesnt listen to his other coaches and players alike. If he did then he would know where his talent lies. This team would also have a very good backup that decided not to come out because of COACH. We have alot of talented kids right here in spencer that he doesnt take time to talk to. Whats up with that.

As far as size not winning well I didnt see your cookeville FB thats was supposed to run all over us do anything but barely make it back to the line if that. Your comment on speed well then you just showed how ignorant of the Warriors you are. JUst keep thinking whatever you want to because WE know the truth. Im out

See your doing exactly what he does. You are exaggerating what I said. I never said experts I said expertise, theres alot of football experience right here that could help these coaches ( I never said to COACH) I know he doesnt need a bunch of people telling HIM what to do but it would be nice to see more coaches on the side line to help with all the other issues that go on in a game like other good programs do. The trainer is seen running all over with no help, you get the idea.

He quit because coach was being a jerk to him at school or thats what he said to me.

This coach has improved the overall quality here at WCHS but he leaves alot to be desired. It doesnt matter because I think he will be long gone before I have any kids to play for him.

His other coaches dont say he doesnt listen,i promise if he had a stud qb on the team he would use him!!!!!

No he doesnt have a stud but he would have had some very good backups if he hadnt been so arrogant and we do have other options but Im not going to express them here. If you are a true fan then you should know.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
