Vol in Ky
Prayers from Creek Wood High school in Dickson County. Hello, This is John from Paducah, Ky. I am Coach Counce's nephew. On behalf of his family, I just wanted to express our deepest thanks to all of you for your comments of support and your prayers for him, along with us. Yes, as you can imagine, we think very highly of James and have been praying for him to emerge from this with his health intact just like all of you have been doing. As I write this, I don't know what his latest status is, but having heard nothing new during today, I'm assuming not much has changed. Last night, the word we had received was very positive, being that it appeared his blockages were treatable and any damage could be repaired. Praise God for that. However, as I told one of James' former players at Henry County in an e-mail last night, a heart attack is a heart attack and we must keep our guard up as far as being totally free of fear until the all-clear is given by a doctor. Still, hearing what we did last night did put us a bit at ease. However, while it may seem rather arrogant, I also must say that it has been a proud thing to see what some of you have said about James and how he conducts himself. From Jackson - particularly JCM, who he also had to battle while at Henry County - to my dad's home of Lake County, those comments have meant a lot. But to see prayer wishes coming from such places as South Pittsburgh and even Carter County, from people that probably have never met James or seen him coach, has just been amazing. So, in closing, and again on behalf of the family, I want to thank you again for your posts and also, with great humility, ask that you continue to pray for not just a great football coach, but also a wonderful man, period. God Bless, John

coachwlr
I have had the priviledge of knowing and coaching against James for the past number of years. I know him as a quality individual and an outstanding coach. I feel fortunate to be able to be considered one of his many friendsl. To James, his wife, and all family members let me say that my prayers and the prayers of the entire Munford football family are with you. Looking forward to seeing you up and around. May God bless you and care for you! Wayne L. Randall
