Lincoln County vs. Hazel Green

Glad to see the Falcons win big, but now they got to focus and get ready to resume region action in 2 weeks! GO FALCONS!!!

Couldn't be more proud of a bunch of kids than I was tonight, I was down in the end zone when the Falcons came off the field after pre-game warmups and the Hazel Green players were all gathered under the south endzone goalpost's and they were screaming at our guys, cussing and holding up three fingers saying that they were going to beat us for a third straight time, and their coaches standing there and saying nothing to them just letting them run their mouths, and our kids just jogged right past them not even paying any attention to them at all.

Then when it came time to play everyone saw right quick that h.g was all mouth and no action, had it not been for 4 Falcon fumbles deep inside trojan territory the score could have been easily in the 50's or so to 0. We had hear all week about their vaunted passing game and saw nothing, of course it's hard to throw the ball when you are either laying on your back or running for your life to get away from the Falcon defense. h.g had some good looking althetes but as it turned our they were all hot air and the Falcons popped their balloon right quick.

Great job guys on staying focused on your mission and not listening to all their mouthing and junk, enjoy your off week and come back ready to play Coffee Co. in a big region game.

I'm glad to hear that our boys had the class and discipline to ignore the taunts. The best way to deal with taunts is exactly how the Falcons dealt with them last night!!!

Exactly!!!!!!!

And that goes right back to coaching, teaching them to ignore all the outside distractions and concentrate on the job at hand, that's what H.G. wanted us to do is get in a shouting match with them, but we were too disciplined to let it happen.

You know sometimes when you think that you can't beat someone head to head then you have to try other things, and I think that after watching film on us, that was what they were thinking, to try to get inside our heads, but it didn't work.

I'm sure that H.G. has some good kids, it just makes the whole team look bad when you have a few loud mouths doing their thing.

The first year that we played them, H.G. had the better team no question about it, but last year we jumped out to a lead and then kinda relaxed and they got back in the game on a couple of big plays and a lot of help from their zebras and beat us, but I think that there is no doubt this year who the better team was.

I will say this, H.G. was the best team that I have saw in quite a while to strip the ball from the ball carrier, one man would hold up the runner and the others would come in and try to strip it out and it worked about 5 times last night, but the down side of that was that there were a lot of broken tackles and missed tackles from H.G. because of it.

Yeah, but that wasn't all of it. We have balls specifically for different scenarios, and the ones we sent into the game were all wierd. Coach Thompson was commenting on the sideline about how wierd they felt. Being an offensive lineman, I didn't figure I could tell a difference, but I picked one up and it felt like someone spilled grease on it. Not necessarily blamin it completely on the balls, but I know my boys in the backfield can hold onto them better than that. Coulda been the cold....but that's just speculation.

Just want to say I thought the O-line looked real good. # 5 had some room to run and he did just that. The fumbles were heart-breakers for all of us. I went home feeling like the score could have been a major runaway.

Looking ahead, Coffee County knows they will have to stop the run. They might have a couple defensive starters coming back off injuries. This could be a tougher game than some might think. :thumb:

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
