Yeah, I think you are right on target with these four teams. Cheatham has to get past Spring Hill this week though, but if they do then it will be Cheatham and Creek Wood battling for the third spot.

I haven't seen Creekwood yet.hear they are improving.

I'll take the Cubs over SH by 14. They are verry impressive for a

young team and will be a power to deal with in the near future.

They played very well on defense in an early season loss to Sycamore. That was a game that they dominated for three quarters. They gave Station Camp one of their toughest games of the year. Did I mention that the Bisons are still unbeaten this year?????? They must have played terrible in the loss to Marshall Co. CW is better than them and there's no way anyone will ever convince me otherwise.

Since that nightmare the Red Hawks are unbeaten on the year. They rolled past a struggling Montgomery Central team. The win over a possible 4A playoff team in Rossview really let everyone know that they were on their way back after a slow start. Last week's big game with Page turned into a 40-3 laugher and now that bad start seems like it was decades ago.

Coach Chuck Daniel is one of the better coaches in Region 5-3A and he & his staff have done a great job of rallying the troops after a sluggish start.

The fourth spot will still be a surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spring Hill took a big step at possibly getting one of those final two playoff spots last night.

Heading Into Week 8:

1.) Giles Co.: 7-0 (4-0): Lipscomb

2.) Lipscomb: 6-1 (4-0): Giles

3.) Marshall Co.: 3-5 (3-2): BYE

4.) Spring Hill: 3-5 (2-3): BYE

5.) Creek Wood: 3-4 (2-2): Cheatham

6.) Cheatham Co.: 2-5 (1-3): Creek Wood

6.) Page: 2-5 (1-3): Mont. Cent.

8.) Montgomery Central: 1-6 (0-4): Page

Post Week 8 Predictions:

1.) Lipscomb: 7-1 (5-0): remaining games Marshall & Mont. Cent.

2.) Giles Co.: 7-1 (4-1): remaining games Creek Wood & Marshall

3.) Marshall Co.: 3-5 (3-2): remaining games Lipscomb & Giles

4.) Spring Hill: 3-5 (2-3): remaining games Page & Creek Wood

4.) Cheatham Co.: 3-5 (2-3): remaining games Mont. Cent. & Page

4.) Creek Wood: 3-5 (2-3): remaining games Giles & Spring Hill

4.) Page: 3-5 (2-3): remaining games Spring Hill & Cheatham

8.) Montgomery Central: 1-7 (0-5): remaining games Cheatham & Lipscomb

If you all think that it's tight now wait until after next week. I believe there'll be a four-way tie for the fourth playoff spot in the region. The funnier thing than that is the fact that the team that will be just one game ahead of those four teams (Marshall) will still have Lipscomb & Giles on their schedule.

Try picking it then bulldog69 :thumb:

Lipscomb, Giles, Spring Hill, and Cheatham County

SHHS beats both Page and Creek Wood.

Cheatham will beat both Page and Montgomery Central.

Marshall will probably lose both of their remaining games.

It will ultimately come down to the Creek Wood/Spring Hill game for the final playoff spot.

That's who I've got...I just can't see Marshall beating Lipscomb or Giles.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
