As usual it will be Science Hill and D.B a close second and maybe pull off the #1 spot. Central should be about 4th in the conference. They haven't got the depth as in the past years. Hess can be shut down and the cougars will have trouble putting points on the board.

Putting points on the board is not usually a problem with Central. No faith again Terolico?

There is a bright side to it…Hess will finally get the credit that he deserves because he will be BY HIMSELF this year!!! All jokes aside…he will be the man to stop for Central this year and it drops sharply after him. :thumb:

Your right Hess is the man to stop this year for the Cougars but trust me on this one, he isnt there only threat. Wes Baker and Andrew McCann will be big threats in the post. McCann is tall and has a huge wingspan. Baker can play inside or out. Also a very good 3poitn shooter. Plus dont be surprised to see some junior action. The '08 class has alot of talent look for them to explode.

Central probably wont be able to keep up with science hill and DB but they should be able to hold their own against any other team in the confrence.

I don’t see Central making the District tournament this year. :thumb:

Well if Central can't make the District (which I guess is you trying to be funny) then TN High should just take the b-ball season off. Ask Roby what he thinks of Central.

Cap1, how many times have you made yourself look like an idiot on this board. Is that why you have a new backup name "VikingVoice"?

And they had depth last year? Coach Vaughn only played about 8 kids last year consitently and it worked out pretty well for them. There are 2 JV players and 2 Varsity players that saw limited time last year who will be good players in the league this year.

It will be the same thing as last year, Central will be picked around 4th or 5th in the conference because people think all the talent has left. Does anyone ever think that the good players ahead of them is why they didn't see much action last year?

They haven't had trouble putting up points so far this summer and fall and there hasn't been too many times that Hess hasn't put up around 20 a game.

DB is going to have a strong team but they are beatable. It will be like last year, if DB doesn't play hard every game like they did then, they can be beat (ala the crockett game). Science Hill has Omar, Odom and a couple of JV players who will be pretty good. Besides that every team in the league has a couple of good players.

You would think that having to listen to all the other schools talk smack on the football board about how bad we are talking about how great their programs are that a Central fan could get on here and offer some ecouragement and some fan enthusiasm for the players to look forward too. If they wanted to read how they are going to be mediocre they can read a post from Cap1 or any of the 100 DB fans.

Brock I hate to burst your bubble but 80% of the Vikings that will see varsity action on the hard wood this year are playing football and don’t participate in off season basketball. In other words…Central was up against the THS JV team when they played this summer. So please stop using that as a measuring stick of how the Vikings will look this season. Your posts have become quite comical…especially the Viking Voice thing. :D :justwrestle:

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
