sportiemom
Slick Rick says you are exactly right about the LB Slick Steelman. Josh Smith is the best LB in 1A football. Slick Rick thinks he will play at the next level. Does Slick Steelman agree that Smith can play at a higher level? Well of course he is ~ Temple picked the best at all positions. Made sure they could play bball too!

What exactly do you mean when you say that Temple "picked" the best? Are you saying that Temple "picks" their players? How does this work? Please tell us. slamballer
Well of course he is ~ Temple picked the best at all positions. Made sure they could play bball too! Let's see, I think Josh Smith has been at Temple since 8th grade. I'm sure they went out and got him to come to TT because he was so dominant at football and basketball at that age. I was under impression that TT had only existed 4 years?

Not sure what she meant to say . . . but Temple has only had a football team for 5 years. 1st year was a middle school team and then started to play a varsity schedule 4 years ago. If so, welcome. To get back to topic, sounds like we'll get to see two very good 1a linebackers in action. I'm looking forward to it. Slick Rick thinks he will play at the next level. Does Slick Steelman agree that Smith can play at a higher level? Josh Smith (Temple) was probably one of the best LB's in the state in '06. He is playing at the next level. He had an opportunity to play at a bigger school but chose to play at a smaller school. He'll be playing for Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN. this coming Fall. Carter County Fan
I'll have to go with Estep on this one! I've watched him play alot and when it comes to linebackers he's tough to beat. Always plays hard.

triathlete
Just ask other teams in the region and see who they think is the better linebacker between the two. Spencer got DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR!!! That is voted by the coaches of other teams. Spencer didnt get the recognition he deserved like Estep did. A player that gets all-state on a decent team looks a lot better than an all-state caliber player who plays on a really good team with two all-staters and a slew of other good ones.
