best_of_the_west
what teams will be in the blackhorse tournament this year and how many places are there They have placed 8 in the past, and I would guess it will be the same this year. Almost all of the teams in West TN go, and some quality out-of-state programs like Brother Martin (La) and Grissom (Al) come as well. I think MBA came last year, but I don't remember them coming every year, so I don't know if they would be back or not. I'm sure Coach Delgado will let everyone know when information is available. I know you can see last year's results at www.houstonwrestling.org. Edited October 23, 2006 by best_of_the_west

dragon12
ELM? Ensworth?
CoachDelgado
ELM? Ensworth? ELM, East Literature Magnet school out of Nashville. The have state champs and placers in their recent history. Ensworth is a new private school in Nashville. They are competing for the MBA population. It is a school that sinks a lot of money into their athletic programs. Johnny Rich, state champion from MBA and Univ of North Carolina wrestler, is their head coach. tkdown4two
Can't wait...CoachD you have any info on the progress of Brother Martin post-Katrina? Last I heard the wrestlers were all staying with their highly decorated (wrestling wise not interior decoration) coach.
CoachDelgado
We don't keep up with those specifics. For those that do not know their coach is former 2 time world team member from 1979 and 1981 Joe Corso. He is one of the top coaches in the country for freestyle wrestling. He has coached on 5 five world teams.
best_of_the_west
Can't wait...CoachD you have any info on the progress of Brother Martin post-Katrina? Last I heard the wrestlers were all staying with their highly decorated (wrestling wise not interior decoration) coach. I have heard that their athletic programs are intact, and most teams only lost a few members due to permanent displacement. I would expect them to be wrestling at the same level as usual.
