We thought it was bad in TN

Saw this one and thought I would share. Maybe we don't have it all bad here.

"Just saw a TV segment about 6 HS football players in Texas who were kicked off the varsity team for donating blood at a school sponsored blood drive. The coach kicked them off the team stating he didn't think they could practice after giving blood.

Do ya think the guy's juuuussstt a little power mad? Can someone say, "Law Suit?" I know if it were my kid I'd file one just to show a buffoon like that who he REALLY works for."

Sounds kinda crappy on the coach's part, but there may be more to it (like for instance he may have told all the players not to donate blood).

This is always a sore subject and we don't know the whole story or the motives of the players for donating blood. Had they been told beforehand to not donate so they wouldn't miss practice? Was this an attempt for the kids to lay out of practice? We just don't know. And if the players were all fired up about donating blood, couldn't they do so at a time that didn't interfere with practice? Sounds like both parties be at blame here.

Heard it on the Sports Animal here in Knoxville. I couldn't believe it. I can't imagine the school system will let him get away with this one. He won't win any popularity awards in his local community. There must be something more to this that we are not privey too. Tough on the players just not right.

We've all heard the saying that "Football is Life".

Whatever.

I love the game as much as everybody else, but football is a game.

Blood is Life.

The blood that those players donated could help save ANYBODY'S life and that coach is a jack-hole for his self serving actions.

Wouldn't it be ironic if that coach or a memeber of his family needed emergency life-saving surgery, but was informed "Sorry.....you lost your position in life.....you are going to die" because the hospital didn't have the blood supply that was needed.

    • Great to meet you too.  We're going to work hard to get back.
    • I extend my gratitude to ManCoverage for initiating this discussion thread tailored to the residents of Trousdale County. In times of adversity within our football team, it is imperative to have an outlet for expression, and what better platform than CoachT's Craigslist forum? I respectfully request that GOAT exercise discretion in his commentary, as his remarks have caused me personal distress.
    • I am inclined to wager a substantial portion of my financial assets on the likelihood that Waggoner shall transition to an alternative coaching vocation prior to the year 2028. It is my contention that discerning individuals are beginning to perceive his coaching prowess as lacking in the requisite excellence. Allow me to articulate the following assertion: Waggoner represents a markedly superior choice compared to the individual who perpetrated the act of fuel theft.   This individual exhibits a conspicuous propensity for frequent professional transitions, a trait which undermines his credibility and renders him an untenable choice for serious consideration. It is indeed confounding that his candidacy continues to garner attention and support.
    • Yeah same   It’s definitely true that tough times make tough kids, but some kids just have a big passion for the game and will become the best of the best no matter where they come from.
