It's that time again! Kyzer's Soccer Centre is holding the 5th Annual Preseason Team Camp. Thanks to all of the teams attending last year, it was a great success!!

If you are not aware of UTC's High School Preseason Team Camp be prepared for something other than a day care camp. This camp is a different camp with the unique qualities that other camps more or less famous do not include. Each team at Kyzer’s camp will be coached by a College/University Head Coach (the only camp of its type). The coaches will design their sessions based on the needs of their assigned team. Classroom sessions provide invaluable tools to help players plan their college career. This camp has had excellent results. Many teams from all over the region have attended our soccer centre year after year. This camp was built by coach Kyzer to help in the advancement of soccer in Tennessee and surrounding areas as well as to provide an atmosphere where players can be seen and interact with college HEAD coaches that make the decision on where their scholarship dollars go (assistants do not make that decision). Many players are recruited through this camp every year!

We can only accept the first twenty teams; please be aware that we cannot accept any more than twenty because of space limitations and to ensure a quality experience for each participant. Some teams bring two teams or use this camp as their try-out to evaluate players. Because of the past success, the camp will fill quickly. Please make your deposit as early as possible to hold your team’s spot in camp.

Camp will be one week before high school training is allowed. Starting your season with the momentum from this camp will give you a valuable advantage over other schools. This Camp is priced less than many major college residential camps and still provides you with the higher quality of a university type preseason camp that is tailored to your style of play. The camp will help prepare your team for the season, giving them the opportunity to train together in the areas that you desire. The classroom sessions will consist of the recruiting process, goal setting, and team concepts. Each player will leave with a notebook filled with dos and don’ts for the recruiting process.

One coach attends free of charge for every team brought to camp. A team consist of at least fifteen players. There will be a coaches social to exchange information and just relax!

Call 423-425-5302 or email jd-kyzer@utc.edu for a brochure or information on how to reserve your team’s place in the camp.

** Be Careful. Many universities try to have team camps for their individual recruiting purposes but are unable to get enough teams and have coaches that aren’t qualified. UTC's Preseason Team Camp is established and will have to turn teams away, don’t miss out!

Who are some of the college head coaches that will be there (or who have been there in the past)?

Thanks for the questions!

1) Wow, I don't want to forget any schools and we have had so many levels represented. The best thing about this camp is that any level can gain a great deal of experience by coming. Because of so many teams attending we are able to insure that no team is embarrassed by being mismatched or not getting good competition during their two matches a day.

Yes Pope John Paul II and Notre Dame attended last year and plan to attend this year as well. We have about seven teams that have attended every since we started the camp.

Since the original post we have four teams already committed for this summer. We do appreciate the loyalty of the teams that are returning year after year and are committed to continually improving on a successful camp experience. Any coach wishing for more information may call the soccer office and we will be happy to give you some references of schools that I have permission to give out their phone numbers. Our number is 423-425-5302

2) Coaches move from school to school and the schools I name might have different coaches now. I cannot possibly name them all but I will tell you that they work for their money. The high school coach provides us with information on his/her team that is passes on to the head coach of a college that is assigned to them. The staff coach then writes up a sort of lesson plan for the week, sends it back to us for approval, and then on to camp! So you see, not a kiddie camp. Everything is very well thought out and systematically processed.

Some of the colleges that have worked for us are;

Lynn University

Covenant College

Tennessee Wesleyan

Queens University

William Penn University

Lee University

Union College

UT Chattanooga

Trevecca College

Bethel College

Alabama A&M

University of South Carolina Upstate

The Citadel

Harding University

Erskine College

Thanks for the great questions and you interest. See you this summer!

Elizabethton has attended the camp for 4 years, and will be back in '07. It has been a great kickoff for each year. The progress even in one week is evident, and that momentum has carried through the season. The insight of the assigned coach and staff is very helpful in planning for the season. The girls have enjoyed the week on a college campus; they are worked very hard and look forward to returning next summer.

This past summer our team at Lebanon High School attended Kyzer Soccer Camp at UT Chattanooga for the first time. The coaching and instruction our team received was instrumental in our team's success this season. We improved from 7-8-1 last season to 11-6 this year. Six of our seven seniors listed camp at UTC as their favorite soccer memory of their high school career.

Coach Kyzer and his staff go out of their way to make the camp experience as beneficial as possible for each team. The competition level was very high and gave the team confidence heading into our season. We are planning on making the Kyzer camp experience an annual tradition.

Thanks for the support.

It is so important to have coaching peers give their recommendation. There are literally hundreds of camps geared toward quick cash and I'm sure that many of them sound as if they are providing the same service. We are honored every time a team decides to return. It proves that we are going in the right direction as well as changing enough to keep the camp exciting.

At this time almost half of the team camp is already reserved.

Thank you

There have been questions from some of you about individuals attending the team camp. Every year we have a lot of individuals that want to be seen by as many college head coaches as possible at camp. We put together as many as three full teams of individual players coming from different areas. You will get the same training and the same amount of matches played. Some players just want to be recruited and others have high school teams that for different reasons cannot attend camp. Thanks for the interest! Call 423-425-5302 for more information.
