bratman
They still have to be LOADED. We played Anderson County in volleyball and they wore us out. With all of those girls playing basketball I can't believe they won't be awesome?
Hopi
All those girls are NOT playing, even Pittman has left the team.
bratman
Why? Anderson County seems to have a great womens athletic program. They dominate in volleyball and are very good in track, soccer and softball. I thought they won over 25 games in basketball last year? Do they have a new coach? JACKETDAD
Then why wouldn't they still be good? See previous comments on page one of this thread. It appears Pittman has quit, and both Dupree Sisters transferred to Webb. From what others have said about the girls on the volleyball team, a lot of them arent playing basketball. orcat
Is there any reason why these girls aren't playing? Anderson County has a great women's athletic program and seemed to be LOADED with quality athletes. At OR all of the best athletes play basketball, and then maybe another sport. I assumed it was that way at most schools. Why would these players quit a team that won so many games last year. I thought they would be a lock to make it to the state tourney. JACKETDAD
Other than Faith and her sister transferring, the only other reason I've heard for girls quitting and others not even trying out is due to the head coach. I dont know the coach but I did see them play for the District Championship last year when they lost to Loudon. They lost that game for one reason and one reason only, COACHING!!. There was no reason what so ever they should have lost, he gave that district championship away.
orcat
Who is their head coach? Did other people quit other than the Duprees? This really surprises me. Any info would be great.
threeball
Who is their head coach? Did other people quit other than the Duprees? This really surprises me. Any info would be great. Is there any reason whatsoever that you need this info except to make the coach look bad. This topic ran it's course on 4 or 5 different threads last season, and here we go again. AC has a strong group of sophomores and they are looking toward the future. There are also some solid freshman to go along with the girls that decided stick it out. They might struggle this season, but they will improve because they do have some of the better female athletes in East TN....
orcat
Never even looked at the old threads, have no idea what you are talking about. My initial comment was on the strength of girls basketball in the County, not just at Anderson County. Yes, I think Anderson County has GREAT female athletes, and if you read my post I though they would win their region. Your post just has made me more curious as to what happened to have all of these players leave.
