While I'm expecting a very close and exciting game Saturday I feel that Ravenwood will win simply because they seem to be more diciplined as a team. After watching them the last two years I am very impressed with the way Coach Rector and his staff have the team working so well as a unit. As teammates the player do not let each other get to high or to low after good and bad plays. The seem to stay focused on the task at hand. I feel that Becker and Gray are excellent quarterbacks and most importantly leaders of their respective teams. That being said I believe if Smyrna has a total meltdown and loses their self control (including their coach) like they did in the first game then they will be in for a long night. I don't think they will, but I still think Ravenwood is the better team. Good luck to both teams and lets all have a good time!

Anyone notice that the Ravenwood supporters are the same ones that have been there all year, while a TON of Smyrna fans are coming out of the woodwork this weak?

Just an observation...and Josh Crouch deserved a second chance and I'm glad he got it because he is a great kid.

It's not the first time around for Ravenwood. So what!

I would expect some excited Smyrna kids to be jumping on because they didn't know CoachT existed until now. They will come as fast on the bandwagon as they will go.

I Love The Fact That I Make A Few Comments And Everyone Jumps Off The Game To Give Me Grammar Corrections And Mascot Lessons. I Mean Seriouslly It's About The Game. Yes, I Know I Wasn't Talking About The Game. Guess What Though, Neither Was Anyone Else. It Was All About Money And Top 10's And Other Junk That Had Nothing To Do With The Game. So I Joined In And Whoa And Behold It Seems The Majority Of The People Bought Into It. Truth Is I Could Honestly Give A Crap About Anyone's Opinion Of Me Or My Posts. I Know They're Stupid That's Why I Wrote Them. The Fact That You Wasted Your Life To Tell Me It's Stupid Is Hilarious And Mind-Boggling. The Truth Is All I Look Forward To Every Year Is Football Season. After That I'm Pretty Bored Till Next Year. I'm Estatic That My Team Has Finally Made It To State And The Fact That Ravenwood Can Barely Make The Playoffs And Pull Off What They Have Is Incredible. I Know It'll Be A Great Game And I Can't Wait. However If You Still Want To Fight With Words Then Lets Do It. A Raptor Is A Dinosaur. It Was In Jurrassic Park. Everyone Knows It. Your Mascot Is Not A Plane. It's Extinct Deal With It. Our Mascot Eats Grass And Barks. We Don't Care Mascots Are Stupid. But Please Feel Free To Argue With Me I'm Having A Blast! :thumb:

Yes it is. Hard to get there too often when you are playing in the same Region as Riverdale! ;)

This is sooooooo good. So many are on here arguing that don't know that much about the teams that are playing. Now put down the cell phones and actually WATCH the game for once.

Smyrna you finally made it there. Now make the most of it! ;)

I have been actually WATCHING both teams this year and BELIEVE that this will be a classic final game. No clear favorite with both teams having great momentum coming into the game. The keys will be special teams and handling the pressure of playing for the gold ball. Nice discussion by Brentwood and Columbia head coaches on the two teams in today's Tennessean sports page...

What is the dig "Including their coach?" what is that about? ;) Little unneccessary don't ya think. ;) And something you need to remember is that this is the playoffs, as a matter of fact the Championship game, what happened during the regular season doesn't matter anymore. And if that's all you have to come one here with is a dig on our coach and to make remarks about a game that is LONG over and BOTH teams have gotten better, then go do some more research about stats, or something else before you come on here and make comments. Read some of the post from other Raptor and Smyrna fans. The regular season doesn't matter and the smart "typed" comments about each others teams and coaches is senseless. And yes, I read all the way through your post and did see the remark of " I don't think they will," however there was no need for digs you typed.

With that being said, I would like to apologize for my senseless comments that made me look like I was poorly representing my alma mater, I never intended for any comments to appear like personal attacks. (Unlike the one I am responding to)

I hope that both teams, who have worked their tails off to get to this game, play great and have no injuries on either side. :D

My previous post was not meant as a dig against Smyrna or their coach. I was simply trying to point out that in the previous game mistakes were made by both players and coaches. I'm sure those mistakes were corrected by both sides. Also I know the previous game doesn't mean anything now. The playoff games leading up to this game do not mean anything now. Like the previous game they can only be used to try and prepare for the next game on Saturday which is the only one that really counts now. Please don't take offense to the previous post. It is only an opinion and we all know what they say about opinions.

Since the Raptors Touchdown Flag student crew has been going bare chest with Raptors body painting all season, will they be ready to bear their soles in the cold weather for Saturday night? Yep!

Does Smyrna have a similar thing with a few of the students going bare chest?

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
