Just want to say as a Rocket fan, our boys lit it up tonight!!!! Great game to watch and not only did Corey have a good night but.....Gentry was letting the 3's fly, Chase was everywhere, Nick hit both inside and out and Whitley was a force under the basket.......so my point is we have a great team this year, if they keep playing like tonight, anything is possible

Well at half time Eagleville was winning 55-9 and already had the JV in.

Yea I thought yall might want to know the final score to the Eagleville and FC Boyd game it was 109 to 30 way to go eagles. The eagles had a great game. I'm starting to wonder how the rest of the season is going to be like. :thumb:

Congratulations to the Champions on the big 21 point win last night. It was a coming out party and everyone played well. As for their guard being able to guard two people, I didn't see anybody even close to our Stephan Reed at running the point. He looked incredible last night! Our outside shooting finally showed with Craig and Carkuff hitting some big threes. Seth Day IS one of the best in the district and never gets mentioned on here. Ask Coach Edmondson if you don't believe it! Hall had half his points on fast break dunks, but unfortunately stayed in foul trouble last night. I'd still like to see him stay under the basket. I know at least one of those fouls came on a charge in a set offense with him 30 feet from the basket. Other than that, I think Coach Pope had an outstanding game plan and the entire team deserves a pat on the back for an excellent game!

P.S. White is a heck of a shooter who needs to see more shots if Community is going to be successful.

Great Job Rockets... Huge win... Also congrats to Cascade and Eagleville... I have a question though for everyone... After playing Cascade and VB, teams we beat by 20... I am a little worried about our district... Reading this website preseason, Everyone was saying Cascade Forrest Eagleville and VB were the top teams... I know for a fact we are just a okay team right now and have a long way to go... Thats why I can't believe we are winning games the way we are... Just wanna hear some opinions on the district and were VB and Cascade just having an off night? I actually hope so! Also how good is eagleville this year.. I know we beat up on them at camp but I hear they have a pretty decent new player???

Remember that all the preseason talk was just that. Most of the people that post on here aren't involved with the development of the teams, so we're just giving our opinions and expressing our loyalty to each of our teams. As for the summer camp scrimmages I wouldn't take too much out of those for how the teams do during the school year. I've seen several teams who played well this summer who are struggling so far and others who's year didn't look too promising who are playing excellent ball. Moore Co. would be a perfect example of that.

First of all congrats to the rockets. I can't remember the last time we were beaten by 20 points, Probably more than 3 year. VB is better than we showed last night we were flat from the beginning. I don't know where our defense was, and I have never seen as many balls fly off of players heads as I did last night. Not saying we would have won just would have been better competition. Cascade probably is better than they showed as well. I could be wrong but Ireally think it will be a tight District in the end. I wouldn't count any of the early favorites out at this point. By the way Eagleville looks pretty tough so far.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
