Listening to that idiot is like trying to get rid of a bad virus. With your help though CoachT provides the cure. If you'll stop quoting this fool, I don't have to read anymore of his jibber jabber. My younger brother is in the top five in scoring of all time at my high school, but I never once went around bragging about it.......Geez.....enough is enough.

At any rate, I clicked on his name and pulled down the profile options. CoachT has an excellent option called "ignore user". His posts now no longer show up on my screen unless someone else quotes him! So please refrain from quoting this idiot so I don't have to read his crap!

P.S. I'm not referring to you Snoop in case your wondering. I'm referring to the Chapel Hill idiot!

Thank you cascade11 finally some one is helping me out here. your a fine example of a good ball player and a great fan let the playing do the talking. I hope to see you on here more. Your pretty smart about all this. Good luck to yal this year. thanks for the p.s. note. He is an idiot.......

Forrest vs. Van Buren should be a heck of a game. Shankle vs. Smith should be a heck of a match up. Shankle is playing good , even though fresh has said enough. Shankle's teammates are really playing well too and are capable if Shankle is doubled. Van Buren looks to have momentum also and has two really good players to watch. We are all biased, not trying to mend bridges, but we here at Forrest respect all teams and look foward to a great game. I would also like to add that the addition of Van Buren has really strengthened our district. I just hate the long drive for yall and us. Be safe and good luck. GO ROCKETS!

Hey union, I can't give you the details the way porky does, but I got to go with him on this..just because I love seeing david and dustin work together in the backcourt: O and D. Haynes or even Muldar at the 3 gives you that combo and the frosh can't play 3 due to size.

I will say this, get the right combo on the court and the Vikings are a matchup problem for every team in the district. We can outplay at least 3 players on every team every time.

Can I take a page out of Fresh's book here and go over the top a bit..can David point a team or what? The kid is all over it, can any two people guard him? How many people CAN he guard at once? :thumb: Thanks to Coach Ed for seeing it and going with it. Ok OK at least I know when I am puffed up.

Vikings Rule!

Yes, Forrest and VB is the game of the season so far..VB is the suprising one..hiding out up there on the hill and coming down with guns blazing. Good luck guys!

Actually I'm a parent, Snoop, but thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately I think B'ball skills may be partially hereditary so my son never had a chance... :D

He does play Football and Soccer for Cascade so I follow his friends during the basketball season while he uses this season to chase girls.....(Apparently that trait is hereditary also..) :thumb:

Let me be sure I understand what you just said:

1. Your best 3 players are better than any other district team's best 3 players.

2. You have a player that 2 players can't guard.

3. You have a player that can guard more than 1 player at a time.

Is this correct?

I have to agree with you 100% and the players and fans from Van Buren realize that Forrest is a good team with great fans. I have enjoyed the district games since Van Buren joined last year. There is nothing wrong with praising a player but don't tear down others in the process. Well, time for the long trip.

Yes, I also think it will be a good game. I also like the District, most of the schools we have played has class. And as for the drive everyone of our District road trips are a long way off except for Boyd.

Fresh is right. Corey has been playing some awesome ball this year. I have seen every game but one and he has carried this team so far. He has some great talent to go with him but honestly they have not been playing to their potential up to this point, relying on Corey to carry the load early on, which he has. For this team to reach their potential the outside shooting has to be found! We have been through a horrid shooting stretch and yet have beaten most teams that we should and played many teams at higher division levels very close. It seems like our shooting slump may be ending and if so get ready for a great finish for all the guys from Forrest. I might also add that not only is Corey's scoring average pretty darn good many of those games came against very good AAA competition. If you haven't seen him play don't be making assumptions, he's the real deal. I am not his brother or any other family member either, just a basketball fan and a Rocket fan.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
