GCPioneer,

Trinity is a very good team, Gibson County will have to play well to get a win. Trinity already has a win over Southside and they are probably the best team in the lower region of west Tennessee. We were fortunate last year in the substate

to get a win.

tcaladylionsfan,

What grade is your daughter in? Two years ago Trinity had an unbelievable Jr. High team. The best Jr. High team that I had ever seen. One of the girls on that team was the softball pitcher, Ivey Renfroe and I think Crickett was on there. You had a great bunch of girls that had size but could press you and get after you. You'll came up and scrimmaged us at the First Baptist gym in Greenfield. That was the nicest group of girls and parents, they were a class act. I think you'll won the TNT Tournament two years in a row. You wasnt in that bunch, were you?

I was there. That was a fun day. You all had a great group of young talent and now all that hard work is paying off. Ivy is greatly missed but is concentrating on her softball skills. Great kid with a lot of talent. We did enjoy that trip thanks for remembering.

yea...i've heard of the crickett glenn girl...maybe her and jennalee can meet and become friends saturday evening  jennalee plays pretty rough down there in the post but can play some ball...im lookin forward to seeing ya'll saturday...have a safe trip

Jennie Lee has developed every year that I have seen her play. She does play strong and hard in the paint and has some good post moves. I beleive she has a younger sister that is going to be a good player also. Is that right?

Trenton is a lot better team than everyone expected so watch out! South Fulton played a good game against Greenfield and I think if they bring that team out tonight then they should be ok. UC is good, but watching them play Westview at the Christmas tournament, they seemed to have attitudes that kept themfrom playing good ball.. I think that it will be a close game, but I wouldn't count SF out yet..

I'd love to see South Fulton beat Union City. Good luck!

Congratulations to South Fulton, take it easy on us Tuesday night.

Chandler said last nite that if South Fulton would come out to play every nite like they did in the first half of the UC game..NOBODY would beat the Lady Devils....He said when they play the way they played last nite, they are the very best team in the district...They missed only three shots in the first half...Chandler said as long as he has been coaching or watching basketball,he has NEVER seen a girl's team shoot like that...

SF played a great game last night. They finally came together as a team, and if they can play consistently like that, hopefully they will move on up in the standings. Nice to have a big district win on the home court! Next up is Greenfield! Should be an interesting game. Hopefully last nights style of play will carry over to Tuesday night!!

You got to consider the source. Girls dont get to high because dingaling said it. Union City is weak this year. Alot of people can beat them by 20 points.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
