For the first time in school history we're ranked in the AP Poll (#21) and last week we were #25 in the coaches poll, a number that will definitely go up when the new rankings are released later today. The Lady Raiders are 12-3 with losses to #1 Maryland by 4 points and #4 Tennessee by 22, which is about how bad UT has beat everybody except UNC and UConn. The Lady Raiders are the real deal Chrissy Givens presence on the court free's up good shots for others like Jackie Pickel and Brandi Brown who are both deadly from behind the arc. I don't know how many people live in the Murfreesboro area, but if you do I reccomend you come out and watch the girls play sometime. The next home game is January 18th vs. Arkansas State @ 7:00. Arkansas St. is also currently undefeated in the SBC. Please come support these girls who are BALLIN!!!! :lol:

The girls won their 11th straight tonight, if they win saturday they might just carry a teen ranking into next Thursday's home game where they are having a special for kids.

 

"TAKE A KID TO THE GAME: Middle Tennessee is sponsoring Take a Kid to the Game night on Thursday, January 18 when the Blue Raiders face Arkansas State at 7 p.m. at Murphy Center. Adults purchase a ticket for $7 and your child gets in free. Tickets are available in advance at the Middle Tennessee Ticket Office by calling 615/898-2103 or 1-888-YES-MTSU or they may be purchased the day of the game. Also, the game is Scales Elementary Night with the Scales cheerleaders performing at halftime."

      Didn't misinterpret any thing. He was throwing our players under the bus saying they werent trying and then made a comment like Westview's jersey was in GC and Union City's head. My comment was that Westview has tons of talent especially with the transfers that have came in. Sure wasn't we choked out with the talent they had last year. I don't know if he is a South Gibson Fan or a Westview Fan but this is a message board and I for one am going to defend my school.

      Correct me if I'm wrong Guru, but I interpreted what you were saying as some Westview opponents having a mental block to overcome because of the name on the uniform.  Much like Duke or Kentucky in Men's college hoops. I do think you're wrong about Gibson Co. being that way. They are Duke's North Carolina. No fear there! Think Pioneer misinterpreted what you were saying and lashed out with the "transfer rhetoric." Anyway back to the present, I believe the parity in the district will be good this year, much like the days when Obion Co. battled those two in district.
