mcsportswriter
Does anyone care about middle school basketball? The Cornersville Middle School Lady Bulldogs won their first round game tonight vs. Smith County 47-16 to remain undefeated on the season at 19-0. Those of you who do not folow middle school ball are missing out on seeing some great teams. The Lady Dawgs blitzkrieged the Owlettes by smothering them early in route to a 21-0 first quarter lead. Haley Fagan- 16 pts Amber Reeves- 9 pts Lindsey Dalton- 9 pts. Nina Endsley- 4 pts McKenzie Hopkins- 4 pts. The Forrest Lady Rockets are also having a great year at 12-3 and hopefully these two teams will meet for the Championshio on 2/3/07 at MTCS. BR549
Congratulations to the Middle School program. This sounds like the High School squad just increased to about 23 players next year! With loosing only one senior and having a good up and coming fresman class. How many more players can a team take on? Could this possibly create a JV team? Could even create more problems! mcsportswriter
They already have a JV squad and if I were a coach I would love to have that problem, just ask Coach Reasonover at Forrest. I think Coach Landers is licking his chops over the talent he will have in the upcoming years, but you could never tell because he is so reserved. JJI
Cornersville was very impressive saturday night....but they could face cornerstone in the championship game....but the way Cornersville played ...I don't see anyone beating them in that AA Class.....the single A class will have some good games as well....
