In the 2nd qtr, LC outscored MC, 16-4, as Luffman had 5 (1 of 1 FT's), Smith had 4, Hill hit a three, and both Jones and Spann had 2 each while MC's 4 pts were by McLean as LC led at the half, 26-16. In the 3rd qtr, both teams scored 8 as LC's Luffman hit a three, Moore had 3 (1 of 1 FT's), and Spann hit 2 FT's while MC's McLean had 5 (1 of 1 FT's) and Hopkins hit a three as LC led after 3 qtrs, 34-24. The keys to the win for Lawrence Co. were their more-balanced attack and hitting their FT's down the stretch. In the 4th qtr, they hit 8 of 11 as Marshall Co. was force to foul. Both teams played good defense, but LC was a little better as they limited MC's inside players, March and Simmons, to a combined total of 7 pts. MC's Kanisha McLean had a good game as she led all scorers with 12 pts.
