Wartburg and Os

IMO Schultz is the best player in the district. He brings it every game and plays on both ends of the floor. I love to watch that kid play because he plays the game the way that it is supposed to be played. If a call doesn't go his way he just hands the ball to the ref and keeps on playing. I wish all kids had his atitude.

Congrats to OS.

I know the reason Dan didn't get the ball early in the fourth quarter was because Shannon and Winstead were both out of the game early in the fourth and they were trying to pound it inside with West and Carter because they had favorable match-ups at that point. But Dan did hit the jumper with 3:37 left that gave the Bobcats a 57-56 lead and the lead onlw grew after that.

Winstead for Wartburg played great defensively last night. He blocked about 10 shots and changed several others. If he wasn't doing that last night then OS probably wins by 20.

The only bad thing for OS is winning the tournament doesn't help on Saturday. You either get Rockwood or Cosby and neither is an easy match-up. It's going to be a great region tournament with six teams (my opinion) capable of winning it.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
