QUOTE(crazzyness @ Apr 8 2007 - 01:38 AM) 826432220[/snapback]Yes. If i'm not mistaking, he averaged better than 30 points per for his CAREER. And that was before the 3 point line. Do you know where the little hash mark on Unaka's floor between the half and three point line? That was he shot from... Regularly.

Also, when we played there were no classifications , when you went to the district then , it was Johnson City etc etc, in your district .

We had them on the ropes one night in Brooks Gym but some "calls" went against us. A ref got punched over it. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Phil Hardin was on that team, he wasn't shabby either.

peolpe have told me that the hampton teams of the 60's were the biggest thing to ever happen to these parts. i've heard that schools of all sizes would come from everywhere to try to beat them. and when they wasent beating larger school they lived in the gym. it sounds like in the hoosiers movie when their little highschool takes on schools over twice their size with about 7 gym rats on their team and wins the indiana state championship. i would give anything to had been around in those days.

yeah Elizabethton is also in Carter County. This would be a nice 5a school in the state if we had a Carter High School. That would be Cloudland, Elizabethton, Hamton, Happy Valley, and Unaka.

I know that Cookeville TN combined years ago and our now the largest school in the state. If Carter did this it would be one of the largest in the state and would be bringing home some State Titles in all kinds of sports. East Tn would not be talking about Maryville athletics they would be Talking about Carter athletics.

I know this would not happen but would be really nice would it not for Northeast TN and Carter County to be a force.

One thing that I have learned since leaving this area is that most other areas do not have City and county schools and do not have schools as close together as we do. That is very different about carter which is a good thing but also a bad thing becuase if we combined we could be on top all the time....

Webster first name at HV was Danny.. Marty Street also played there alone with the Walkers boys who were good..

Did anyone menton Jerry white at Hampton, Leon Tolley, the State MVP

At Unaka the best were

1. Eddie Holly

1. Big John Taylor

2. Keith Bowers

3. Phil Hardin & Johnny Bennett

Kenneth Chambers & Aaron Dugger

The Taylor Boys: Ronnie, Larry and Terry.

Larry Morrell

Cloudland: Grady Hill and Tony Church.. Church would have been the all Time Leading scorer if there would of been a Three point line. He was deadly from 30 ft. Don't forget Joe Sluder

Hampton 7'4 Ken Long Hard to guard him, went on to play at Garner Webb.

Kelly Malone and Craig Fair

Elizabethton- Johnny Honeycutt, Phil Pierce, Tony Bradley and Big George Richmond and William Trammel was probably the best.

    • Never in my life have I seen a team in a scrimmage against their own defense look so lost and confused. The defense didn’t look much better, the coaching staff can’t keep their anger together, not only with the players but also with their other coaches. I feel awful for those players. None of them look like they wanted or should’ve been out there, but for the grown men on the sidelines acting like fools, it's just embarrassing to the Farragut name and reputation. I now see why they chose not to live stream this on their YouTube channel.
    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
