Who does White House scrimmage next week????? I know that Gallatin is a fine program and in '07 they should be an outstanding young football team after the losses that will hit them due to graduation from this past year's region championship bunch. Mc cowboy
QUOTE(BDP 5908 @ May 4 2007 - 11:24 PM) 826452227[/snapback]western kentucky wins the 1-aa national championship in 2002 but loses to kansas state 48-3 in the same year, gee i guess i am an idiot I do not believe B.C is saying Tenn Chatt can beat Michigan. I believe he is talking about higher level 1AA teams being able to compete with higher level mid majors. There are the rare occasions that a 1AA team has special talent. I can think of some Marshall teams that won 1AA National Championships and were then able to turn that into what 29 straight wins at the 1A level within 3 years. App St was very competitive at LSU 2 years ago. And i can remeber Mcneese in 2001 leading Texas A&M by 7 with about 6 left to play before finally losing by 10. Mcneese led the whole way. Depth proved to be the key in the loss. They simply wore out. I'll give you 3 teams that are usually able to compete not win but compete with some pretty good 1A teams. Montana, Ga Southern and Appalachian State. There are more these just come to mind.

BDPMOM
all i said was that there is a big difference between 1-a and 1-aa programs and i was speaking in general, not specific programs or games, but that was the most idiotic thing you had ever heard, sorry but if there was not a difference than the ncaa would not the two divisions, just like the tssaa has 5-a football all the way down to 1-a football, there is a difference, especially in football
bobcats56
From the last time I saw gaines he definately has some work to do if he wants to play big time Div 1 ball. His height will most likely prevent him from playing defense in college I bet many teams will recruit him with the idea of turning him into a offensive tackle. Guys that big usually have a hard time getting out of their own way. Last I saw him he played way to high but could get away with it being so big. You've got to respect a guy with that size and wish him the best but I think many people recruiting him would see him as a project. When you're talking about IA vs IAA (actually this is not what the division are called anymore it was changed last year) there is a difference between upper tier Div I i.e. SEC vs. Sun Belt, Mountain West type teams. Sun Belt teams compete in the south mostly with big 1AA schools for players. I guess we will see how the premiere 1AA team stacks up as I believe Appy State plays at Florida opening week this year. I played against Wes Proctor and with Wes at APSU and I can tell you that this guy had way more impact on a game than Gaines did at any point I have seen him play. Wes was a absolute beast in high school and college and was a 1AA All-American at the Peay. I beleive he could have gone other places but being at the Peay was his decision and he was a great teammate. I believe one thing for sure Gaines will not play defense in college he'll get moved to o-line and hopefully have a productive career.
