QUOTE(pnthrsroc07 @ Apr 24 2007 - 09:42 PM) 826444446thing is that GC hasn't got the experience to keep on runners like tyler ramsden or clay adams. so if we're looking at times ######-for-tat, then obviously, he's gonna get schooled. the kid's still fast. and for another example of such an athlete, on a higher scale, i give you riley young. he was hailed as being the "fastest eighth grader ever" (remember, that would have been bumbi's senior year) and now, despite the fact that he's not the greatest sophomore ever, he still owns.

Truth is I haven't even heard of GC until this thread.

QUOTE(flatline17 @ Apr 25 2007 - 07:45 AM) 826444815If GC was running A/AA in the midstate, you would've heard of him by now.

i mean he only runs a 4:34 as a freshman, thats pretty good. no offence to Ensworth but they arent exactly a school known for running greatness. he shows just ridiculous potential, he broke austin weavers middle school cc record and improved an insane amount from the beginning of cc untill state.

Exactly, if he went to a school that actually does something in the running world more people would hear of him. Ensworth has basically unlimited resources with PWP and Edwin right next to it... you'd think they could do something with it.

they are. their freshman 4x800 relay just ran 8:45 and smashed the doug hall freshamn record by 10 seconds last weekend.

also they have a great high jumper, long jumper, shot putter, and discus thrower. they should one of the favorites to win the freshman city meet next week at MBA.

well zach rogers of lipscomb is pretty fast although he plays baseball so he cant run in most meets but he does long jump. he never practices an jus goes to the meet an he is jumpin 21'9 and has jumped in the 22's a few times but barely scratched. however he doesnt have a game during sectionals so hes suppose to run the 100.( he was timed at 4.38 in the 40 yrd dash as a freshman) so we'll see how he does

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
