Scott's Hill Coach

Considering the amount of work that it's going to take on an administrative end to have the program ready to even field a JV team by the fall, they had better make and announce a decision soon.

From everything I have heard about the Scotts Hill principal, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would drag his feet on a matter like this. But SURELY Henderson Co. politics wouldn't factor into this decision at all would it?

Jason White is the new head coach. This is a get hire for SHHS, they get a young, knowledgeable, coach who knows how to win. He was O-coordinator at Carter in Knoxville the last 2 years, and was O-line coach at CAK for 2 years prior to that. He's got a big job in front of him, but no doubt he is the perfect fit for SHHS.

I'm sure he's excited about the opportunity and getting to go back home.

I think everyone will like his offense for sure. He's used a lot of single back and shotgun sets the past couple of years, and if he's got the athletes will probably continue to use it.

Hopefully he'll be able to get 5 or 6 JV games this fall and be ready to go varsity in 2009.

I agree Sol. Coach White is a very very smart coach, I think Scotts Hill made an excellent choice.

I have heard through the grapevine that he's got 7 games scheduled next year, but alas a date with Lexington could not be arranged. Looks like that will have to wait until 2008.

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
