Time to make those final picks before the season starts.

 

1. Riverdale -- Coach A's second year and lot's of talent...especially in the lines. Great level of participation with 90+ that will dress next Friday night.

2. Smyrna -- Stability and defending state champs with superstars returning and just a couple questions to answer. Pretty much a toss-up between the top two.

3. Lebanon -- Stability and that great freshmen class from two years ago are juniors now. This could be a very good team.

4 (tie). Lavergne -- Great talent but new coach. Can Lavergne's talent trump Blackman's coaching stability?

4 (tie). Blackman -- Winner of week zero game gets the playoff spot. Cohesiveness is a question mark for the Blaze. Had this team picked third coming out of spring so they've dropped a bit and could fall out of the playoffs.

6. Oakland -- absolutely capable of being a playoff team with a strong junior class. Lavergne game will be the key unless they upset Riverdale. The 'guru' said Oaklands numbers have dropped into the 40s and that creates questions.

7. Wilson Central -- Could be the surprise team in the region. Have five straight region games against the region's five best teams to end the season. Has to beat Siegel and Oakland in September, and then play great football down the stretch. Word is these guys have some fight in them.

8. Siegel -- I just don't think Watson will ever get Siegel there. The players just don't seem as prepared as most other squads.

      Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.    Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.

      Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.

      Interesting how quite it is. Rumors are going around that Anderson County is being looked at by TSSAA for recruiting violations with the Campbell County transfers.

      I heard from a member of the teaching staff that there has been a dispute over use of the game field between football, and girls lacrosse team. Girls had a game and wanted to warm up and football coaches did want to leave. The football coaches came down hard with some bad vulgar language and the girls lacrosse backed down. What a classy act BHS athletics has become.
