How good will Morristown East be this year?

I know they have alot of returning players from last year. What will be their strength & weakness for the 2007 season.

( I know last year, we were really softy up the middle on defense. Mo-West killed us with that lead draw right up the

middle all game long in the playoff) Who is the QB this year? How big will the defensive line be this year? how many

players are on the team? Did summer workout go well.

East had 66 of 70 complete the summer workout goals so 70 seems to be the number. They are MUCH stronger than last year due to the workout program in place.

 

Offense: The lead candidate for QB is tyler turner(jr.). He has looked pretty good in the 7 on 7. The wings should be Dockery and either Blanton(so.) or Johnson(so.) & maybe Jeremy Jones(jr.). Fullback will probably be Johnny Hodge(sr.). The O-line lost 4 but should be solid with the jr. class stepping up. They have some really big guys of front and are talented but with little experience. Receivers? This point does not matter much because they don't throw that much.

 

D: They have gotten stronger and older up front and should be more solid than last season. They return the whole secondary and all the linebackers. Demarcus knight(jr.) had worked with the O some in spring and if he stays at Fb then Matt Helton(so.) will be playing strong side LB.

 

There will be alot of sophomores get PT. It is a very talented group.

 

They should gel as an offense during preseason and work out the kinks against Science hill,Sullivan east,Sullivan north and bearden in the 4 scrimmages they have set up. It should be a good year for Cane football as they attempt to imrove on 9-4 in 06.

They will be awhole lot tougher for west this year, but the offense has holes to fill.

East has the power to be good, but that antiquated offensive scheme will keep them from moving past round 3 usually. East and West need to ditch the veer or wang t either one. You have to be balanced to get by the Red Rebels of the world these days....

That is a saturday. East has looked good but everything changes when they put the pads on next week. They really have alot of depth this year.

If the 10th is a friday, then it is on friday. It is at science hill.
